  • Patent number: 8770562
Abstract: A cutting board has two opposed longitudinal edges, two opposed transverse edges, a first diagonal edge between the first transverse edge and a first longitudinal edge, a second diagonal edge between the first transverse edge and a second longitudinal edge. The edges define broad upper and lower cutting board surfaces. A permanent magnet is affixed to each of the diagonal edges. Two elongate ferromagnetic fences have first and second legs disposed at right angles. In a dispensing trough position the second leg is engaged by the magnet to hold the second leg tightly against the diagonal edge with the first leg lying flat against the lower broad surface to thereby provide two fence members extending above the cutting surface to guide cut items toward an opening defined by a space between the fence members at a transverse edge. The size of the opening is adjusted by moving the fences.

  • Patent number: 8430387
Abstract: A leverage based cutting board system having a rotatable tower and sliding knife holster is disclosed. Control of the height of the sliding knife holster and unique locking system facilitates cutting of foodstuffs of a variety of shapes and consistencies. The system further provides an advantage of using any traditional knife. It allows rapid switching between traditional cutting and leverage cutting. The system decreases the total scale of force required to cut foodstuffs and constrains the number of untoward knife motions. The tower with its unique property of rotating 180 degree makes it apt to use both the surfaces in a single preparation. The unique texture of the board helps it to grip slippery food items. The sleek and compact design helps keeping the tower intact as it lies horizontally adjacent to the board when not in use.

  • Patent number: 5465946
Abstract: A positioning fixture which allows two or more parts to be positioned in proper spatial relationship to one another and then allows the parts which are clamped together to be repositioned while maintaining the spatial relationship between the parts. The positioning fixture has a flat working surface which is compatible with a variety of standard and custom clamping mechanisms for holding and positioning the parts to be welded. The working surface with the parts clamped to it is tiltable to a wide range of working positions. The tilting feature is provided by mounting the working surface on a locking ball joint which is operated by a foot pedal through a mechanical or pneumatic mechanism. The locking ball joint also provides electrical isolation between the work surface and the base of the positioning fixture which is important when using electrical welding methods.

  • Patent number: 5326085
Abstract: A device for supporting slabs during the phases of punching and in general operations of plastic deformation has a plurality of jacks (6) placed under the slab in a position corresponding to at least a substantial portion of the surface of the slab during all the operations being carried out on the slab. These jacks are normally placed in contact with the lower surface of the slab and are capable of lowering for the purpose of avoiding interference with the portions of the slabs which have already been plastically deformed.
