  • Patent number: 10352451
Abstract: A sealing structure with a torsional damper and an oil seal includes a damper pulley serving as a torsional damper and an oil seal. The damper pulley has an annular hub pocket that is recessed in the outer side direction and extends in the circumferential direction along a boss part of a hub. The oil seal includes a side lip that extends toward the outer side. An outer circumferential surface of the hub pocket increases in a diameter toward the outer side, the side lip of the oil seal does not enter inside the hub pocket, and an annular gap is formed between an outer side end of the side lip and an inner side end of the outer circumferential surface of the hub pocket.

  • Patent number: 9488061
Abstract: A compressor seal assembly is disclosed. The compressor seal assembly may have a seal ring having a seal ring bore. The compressor seal assembly may also have a collar. The collar may have a cap portion having a first bore configured to receive an impeller. The cap portion may be disposed in the seal ring bore. The collar may further have a journal portion having a second bore configured to receive a shaft connectable to the impeller. The collar may also have a slinger disposed between the cap portion and the journal portion. The slinger may have a generally cylindrical shape and may have a front face. The slinger may also have a rear face opposite the front face. Further, the slinger may have a cylindrical side surface extending between the front face and the rear face. In addition, the slinger may have a groove disposed on the side surface.

  • Publication number: 20110148182
Abstract: A steering knuckle, which is provided for receiving an outer ring of a wheel bearing, and a wheel bearing arrangement with such a steering knuckle. The sealing arrangements of the wheel bearing has a pre-seal, which is designed as a labyrinth seal to provide sealing for an appropriate gap geometry. To this end, the steering knuckle has a collecting channel, which captures liquids and dirt particles and discharges them at the periphery. The hearing seal can be changed by this measure, so that savings are possible with a minimum of sealing action of the conventional sealing arrangement and with greatly reduced friction torque. Overall, the sealing action, which is now achieved by the bearing seal and the pre-seal together, is increased or remains at least at the same level while manufacturing costs are reduced.

  • Publication number: 20080203672
Abstract: A generally cylindrical shaft seal with an axial opening is disclosed having annular “lips” or “legs” on one or both ends that are separated by a fluid-filled cavity. The seal is adapted to seal between a support or housing holding the seal and a generally cylindrical shaft passing axially through the seal. Fluid, under pressure, may enter the cavity and urge the lips or legs in a radial direction which enhances the sealing engagement of the seal member to the shaft and the housing. In certain embodiments, the seal has a concave inner surface to minimize the contact area (and hence the friction) between the seal and the movable shaft. The outer circumference of the seal may be equipped with one or more O-ring seals for sealing to the housing or support. The seal may be fabricated from natural or synthetic polymers, metal or composite materials.

  • Patent number: 6569493
Abstract: This invention relates to a method of repairing a moisture barrier separating a paper machine dryer drum from the dryer journal. Such processes of this type, generally, involve filling the cavity between the dryer drum steam intake pipe and the dryer journal with a flowable moisture barrier material. The flowable moisture barrier seals leaks in the dryer journal moisture barrier.
