  • Patent number: 8267410
Abstract: A suspension for a trailer vehicle that allows the trailer itself to be used as a ramp. The suspension has an axle having an axis and wheels at each end of the axle. The axle is pivotally connected to the vehicle at a pivotal connection and the axis of the axle is offset from the pivotal connection to the vehicle. An actuation device having a first and second end is pivotally connected to the axle at its first end. The actuation device is movable between a retracted length and extended length. Shifting the actuation device between its retracted and extended lengths causes the axle to pivot about the pivotal connection on the trailer, thereby changing the height of the vehicle relative to the ground surface. The trailer can be used as a ramp, thus, eliminating the need for separate ramps.

  • Patent number: 7469175
Abstract: Method and device for calculating chassis height of a vehicle that has at least three air-suspended wheel axles (2, 3, 4). The device includes a control unit and two level sensors (9, 10). The control unit detects the chassis height at the front axle (2) via a first level sensor (9) and at the forward rear axle (3) via a second level sensor (10), and the control unit calculates the chassis height at the rearmost wheel axle (4). An object of the disclosure is to protect the rear axle installation with as few level sensors as possible.

  • Patent number: 7441781
Abstract: A lift system for integration with the air suspension system of a truck for raising the rear of the truck so that the trailer can be attached and the landing gear let up includes an air dump valve, two air control switch valves, one one-way valve, one air gauge rated to 100 psi., one air regulator, an on/off control switch, a safety alarm buzzer, and the appropriate number and size of fittings and airlines. The on/off control switch is located within the cab of the truck and allows the operator to manually engage or disengage the lift system. The lift system is interconnected to and powered by the truck's main battery and main air supply whereupon engagement of the lift system facilitates the alignment and connection of the rear of the truck to the trailer and removes the weight from the truck's landing gear by raising the landing gear so that the landing gear can be let up.

Abstract: This invention provides a novel method of aid and protection in the moving of a mattress or box spring of various sized beds about a residence, retail or commercial premise or institution. It also is very helpful for the handling of panel materials such as sheetrock, plywood, hardy-board or other construction materials, at the same time in all cases affording some protection against back injury and follow-on medical claims plus labor saving, as many of the jobs can be done safely by one person.

  • Publication number: 20080217874
Abstract: Apparatus, systems and methods for the stabilization of a mobile liquid tank during transportation of a liquid. Sensors feed information regarding the status and position of a liquid retained therein to a control unit which calculates expected movement of the liquid, and controls a set of pneumatic valves to adjust airsprings of a pneumatic suspension as to minimize undesirable movement of the liquid.

  • Patent number: 7322627
Abstract: A truck is disclosed with a vertically adjustable bed to facilitate cargo loading and unloading. The truck includes a U-shaped frame within which the vertically adjustable bed is located. The vertically adjustable bed is movable between elevated and lowered positions by hydraulic cylinders. When in its fully elevated position, the vertically adjustable bed is secured to the U-shaped frame by bed locking pins. When the vertically adjustable bed is in its fully elevated position, left and right tailgate doors are secured to each other by tailgate door locking screws. The left and right tailgate doors are secured to the vertically adjustable bed by tailgate bed locking pins and a lateral recess in the left and right tailgate doors designed to receive the rear edge of the vertically adjustable bed.

  • Patent number: 7306239
Abstract: A sensor for a height control system uses a transducer to detect changes in position of an arm relative to a vehicle and sends a proportional signal to a microprocessor that, in turn, actuates a pneumatic valve operably connected to an air spring between the arm and the vehicle. The transducer includes an optical bridge, a variable capacitor, or a flexible variable resistor.

  • Patent number: 7293781
Abstract: An anti-creep locking mechanism for a trailer suspension system is disclosed. The disclosed locking mechanism includes at least one column that may be swung into a first position in a gap formed between a trailer frame and a suspension component to keep a trailer at a predetermined height. The column is biased into the first position by a spring. An actuator, such as a contracting air bag or an air cylinder with a linkage assembly, is used to overcome the biasing force of the spring and retract the column into a second position, thereby deactivating the anti-creep locking mechanism. The anti-creep mechanism may further include an angle limiter to insure that column is fully retracted once the system is deactivated.
