  • Patent number: 11156053
Abstract: A riser disconnect/reconnect system having a disconnection package (RDP) and a modified lower marine riser package (LMRP) are provided for quick disconnection of the marine drilling riser (MDR) from the LMRP to facilitate access to the LMRP or BOP stack. The RDP includes a flex joint and a hydraulically-actuated release connector (RC) with a connecting mandrel that engages a modified LMRP. In an emergency, the RDP is disconnected from the LMRP allowing access to the BOP stack for intervention. The RDP may be disconnected from the LMRP for recovery of the LMRP or BOP stack to the surface for repair or maintenance without recovering the MDR. The RC joins the flex joint to the uppermost annular blowout preventer in the LMRP. The release connector can be used in a standard or inverted position. Also provided are structural cages with complementary stab plates allowing access to various bypass ports and controls.

  • Patent number: 10099006
Abstract: An assembly used in the injection of a contrast product into a patient is disclosed. This assembly includes a container, an injection flowpath, and a filling flowpath. The injection flowpath extends from the container to the patient, while the filling flowpath extends from a feed source to the container. Part of the injection flowpath is also used by the filling flowpath. One connector is disposed between an upstream filling line tubular section and a pump coupling section within the filling flowpath, while another connector is disposed between a downstream filling line tubular section and this same pump coupling section. This allows the upstream filling line tubular section, the pump coupling section, and the downstream filling line tubular section to differ in one or more respects, for instance with regard to hardness.

Abstract: A fitting for collecting or distributing high-pressure fluid via fluid transmission lines is provided. The fitting includes a body, and a plurality of apertures formed in the body in a common plane, intersecting inside the body such that all of the apertures are in mutual fluid communication. Each of the apertures is configured to receive a threaded coupling member of a respective high-pressure transmission line. The fitting also includes first and second compression members positioned on opposing sides of the body and coupled thereto so as to exert a compressing bias to the body in an axis perpendicular to the common plane. The compression members each comprise a raised contact surface corresponding to the region of the body where the plurality of apertures meet, and through which the compressing bias is exerted. The fitting may be an elbow-fitting, a tee fitting, a cross-fitting, or some other configuration.

Bearing support is provided by an oil film present within a clearance space defined between the rotary union and a stationary housing disposed thereabout. In another arrangement, a stationary fluid transfer device is adapted for non-rotation and disposed within a crankshaft cavity to define a clearance space there between. A fluid pathway formed therein communicates fluid to the crankshaft access channel. Bearing support is provided by an oil film present in the clearance space.
