Patent number: 5970777Abstract: A money clip having greater resilience without yielding by using a thin, stiff material. The clip may have a base and a lever, the lever being connected to the base by a spring, subject to bending deflection in use. The clip provides a reverse bend, or knee between the principal bend at the back of the clip, and a lip at the front of the clip. A long tongue extends as part of a base, extending out from the front of the clip where the lip contacts the tongue along a contact line. Near the back of the clip, the spring is formed as a loop having a diameter greater than the throat formed by the lever and base at their greatest distance from one another. The throat provides greater leverage on money held in the clip than does the lip, but both provide significant force to secure money without yielding the spring or lever, and without allowing the money to turn, twist, or slide. A single bill, or fifty bills may be inserted into the clip with a totally elastic response by the clip.Type: GrantFiled: September 9, 1997Date of Patent: October 26, 1999Inventors: Gerald S. Patent number: 5938388Abstract: A staple wire supply roll is positioned on a threading-in device that can be moved out of a stapling apparatus, and the leading end of the wire is transported by means of a thread-in transport device, through a flexible guide tube, to a stapling device. A sensor positioned on the stapling device signals the end of the threading-in operation when the leading end of the staple wire passes by. By pushing the threading-in device into the apparatus, the staple wire transport device of the stapling device is set in motion, as a result of which the leading end of the staple wire is transported to a location which positions the leading end of the wire in device. The staple wire is transported, in accordance with the thickness of the sheet stack measured by a sensor, by a stepping motor, which at the same time drives a radial cam unit.Type: GrantFiled: March 19, 1998Date of Patent: August 17, 1999Assignee: Eastman Kodak CompanyInventors: Helmut Bloser, Heinz-Guenter Bethmann, Joachim Buck, Helmut Funk, Rolf Hascher, Juergen Ries, Gert Scheufler

Patent number: 3977225Abstract: Apparatus and a method of employment thereof for forging cylindrical shells of controlled interdimension wherein a single punch die mandrel and cushion cooperate at a single work station to subject a metal blank to high multi-axial stress sufficient to increase the ductility thereof and permit a completed article to be fabricated during a single continuous pass of the material through the die. Precise control of the interdimension of the desired part is maintained by means precisely shaping the material and maintaining engagement between the end face of the mandrel and the bottom of the work blank during the forging process.Type: GrantFiled: March 27, 1975Date of Patent: August 31, 1976Assignee: Aluminum Company of AmericaInventor: Richard Couchman
