  • Patent number: 11764503
Abstract: A two part connector for the temporary connection of an external periphery device to a printed circuit board (PCB). When coding or diagnostics need to be performed on much of todays electronic or electronic controlled equipment, an external unit needs to be physically connected to the microprocessor on the PCB of the equipment. Until now equipment manufacturers either install a socket onto the PCB, or form a mating part of connector directly on the surface of PCB, that is electronically connected to the microprocessor through electrical trace paths. This device eliminates the need for a socket and forms an intermediary element between the external unit and the PCB, that connects to the PCB with a set of vertical pins that matingly connect to a series of cutouts on the PCB. This device connects to a plethora of external devices and takes zero space on the surface of the PCB.

  • Patent number: 11746729
Abstract: A liquid rocket engine cools a thruster body by pumping propellant through cooling channels integrated in the thruster body between internal and external surfaces. One or more of the cooling channel surfaces has a variable depth along a thrust axis to mix propellant flow and destroy thermal stratification, such as a depth that varies with a repeated contiguous sinusoidal form along the thrust axis. Fuel passed through the cooling channels injects from the combustion chamber wall towards a central portion of the combustion chamber to cross impinge with oxygen injected at the combustion chamber head so that a toroidal vortex forms to enhance propellant mixing. The cooling channels are formed by milling at the combustion body exterior, filling the channels with wax, then electroplating metal to enclose the channels.

  • Patent number: 8914976
Abstract: Bi-casting a platform (50) onto an end portion (42) of a turbine airfoil (31) after forming a coating of a fugitive material (56) on the end portion. After bi-casting the platform, the coating is dissolved and removed to relieve differential thermal shrinkage stress between the airfoil and platform. The thickness of the coating is varied around the end portion in proportion to varying amounts of local differential process shrinkage. The coating may be sprayed (76A, 76B) onto the end portion in opposite directions parallel to a chord line (41) of the airfoil or parallel to a mid-platform length (80) of the platform to form respective layers tapering in thickness from the leading (32) and trailing (34) edges along the suction side (36) of the airfoil.

  • Patent number: 8898878
Abstract: There is provided a method for attaching an exterior component. When attaching an exterior component to a bumper, an attachment member for a first attaching hole of the bumper fixed to the vehicular main body is detached, and then the attachment member is inserted into a first through-hole of the exterior component and the first attaching hole and fixed, thereby temporarily fixing the exterior component. A marking is put on a temporarily fixed portion where a second through-hole faces the bumper, and the exterior component is temporarily detached. A third attaching hole is formed by boring a hole in the marking of the bumper, and then a well nut is fitted into the exterior component, enabling the exterior component to be attached through the first and second through-holes. Accordingly, the marking and positioning of the exterior component can be easily performed without detaching the bumper.
