  • Patent number: 9435149
Abstract: A fully functioning, pivoting vent stop for sliding windows has only two parts, a housing and a pivoting tumbler, both formed of injection molded plastic material. The tumbler is pivotally mounted in the housing and has integral detent elements cooperating with detent elements on the housing walls to position the tumbler in recessed or extended limit positions. The cooperating detent elements also provide an over-centering spring action as the tumbler is actuated between its limit positions. Assembly of the two-part device is achieved in a highly simplified and economical manner by configuring an internal cavity in the housing with inclined slots in the internal side walls of the housing. This enables the tumbler to be resiliently pressed into the cavity, temporarily displacing the housing side walls outwardly, until the cooperating pivot and detent elements are fully engaged.

Abstract: The rear lift gate swing arm ventilation assembly is for most vehicles, domestic or foreign, equipped with rear swing out window in the rear lift gate. The assembly provides improved air circulation by allowing the rear window open at a pre-set width. The swing arm acts as an extended strike loop when attached to the factory rear window loop. The assembly comprises of a “U” shaped round metal rod and a rectangle shaped metal base. The free ends of the “U” shaped rod provide a rectangle flange with bores for bolts to pass through. The metal base comprises of two rectangle metal blocks, one block with two bores with internal threads in both ends; both blocks provide a central vertical bore with internal threads. The metal base provide two bores along the longitudinal axis, to dimension as set in factory strike loop. The brackets wrap over the factory window's strike loop and secure by the central vertical bolt.

Abstract: An improved security system to prevent unwanted entrance through a hinged barrier, such as, but not limited to a door, is provided and comprises a member associated with the barrier, whether internal or eternal to the barrier, and adapted to extend from a first length to a second length. An actuation mechanism is coupled to the member and is adapted to extend the member from the first length to the second length and to contract the member from the second length to the first length. A receptacle is provided adjacent the barrier for receiving a portion of the member when the member is extended by the actuating mechanism. A hinge assembly is provided and is disposed substantially opposite the receptacle and adjacent the barrier and is coupled to another end of the member, such that when the member is actuated to the extended position, the member, receptacle and hinge assembly form a security system to prevent unwanted entrance through the barrier.

  • Patent number: 8360484
Abstract: A vent stop is installed into a window/door to limit travel therein of a sash member, and being particularly adapted to permit ease of its installation, especially into a wooden door/window. The stop incorporates multiple retention features to inhibit the stop's removal, once properly installed. The retention features include a wedge-shaped protrusion located at a distal end of the stop housing, which engages the wood of the window opening when pivotally installed therein, to secure a first end of the stop. The opposite end of the stop may be redundantly secured. A first feature for securing the opposite end may comprise one or more arcuate flanges on housing side walls, flanges being adapted to unidirectional movement so as to permit its movement relative to the window opening during installation, but thereafter deterring counter-pivotal motion that would allow removal of the vent stop. A second feature comprises a deformable spring clip.
