  • Publication number: 20150076845
Abstract: A lockset is actuable by pivoting a handle about a longitudinal axis of the lockset by rotating the handle and by pivoting the handle about an axis transverse to the lockset axis, such as by pushing or pulling. The lockset includes an inside handle and an outside handle, each associated with an independent mechanism, each of which can independently actuate the lockset. A locking mechanism prevents actuation of a first one of the independent handle mechanisms without affecting operation of the other handle mechanism. Upon actuation of the other handle mechanism, a retractor engages a surface of the locking mechanism and removes it from engagement with the first locking mechanism. An adjustment ring has a first configuration that centers the lockset in a door having a first standard thickness and a second configuration that centers the lockset in a door having a second standard thickness.

A coupler portion of a latch member is formed with a shaft hole confined by a hole-confining wall for extension of the threaded portion therethrough, and a pair of engaging tongues that extend inwardly and radially from the hole-confining wall and that slidably and respectively engage the slots in the shaft so as to permit sliding movement of the latch member along the length of the shaft and so as to facilitate mounting and removal of the latch member on and from the shaft.

Abstract: A tubular lockset includes a push button locking actuator with an automatic kick-off feature. A spindle assembly extends between an interior knob or lever and an exterior knob or lever. A latch assembly includes a bolt and a locking member that is movable between a locking position, where the locking member engages the spindle assembly, and an unlocking position. When the latch bolt is moved about ⅛ inch, a locking member is disengaged from the spindle assembly to unlock the lockset. The disengagement occurs independently of any movement of the interior knob or lever.

Abstract: A lock structure for bathroom use comprises an outer rose, an inner rose, an outer unlatching mechanism mounted to the outer rose, and an inner unlatching mechanism mounted to the inner rose. The inner unlatching mechanism includes a turnable inner unlatching rod on which a locking wheel is mounted to turn therewith. The locking wheel includes an engaging block for selectively engaging with a first engaging notch and a second engaging notch in a fixing member securely mounted in the inner rose. When the engaging block is engaged in the second engaging notch of the fixing member, the locking wheel is engaged in a notch of a follower wheel mounted on an inner spindle. The follower wheel can be turned when the inner handle is turned such that rotation of the follower wheel returns the locking wheel, thereby achieving the unlatching operation.

Abstract: A collar coacts with a chassis, sleeve and lever of a lockset to provide a retention and reinforcement system for lock assemblies. The collar has a flanged portion and a sleeve-engaging portion and is sandwiched between a lever and the cylinder. The sleeve-engaging portion includes at least one tab that engages the sleeve to retain the collar on the sleeve. Alternatively, the collar can be staked to the sleeve. A spring washer can be mounted between the collar and the chassis to take up variation in manufacturing tolerances. The result is a retention and reinforcement system that provides a protection against attack in the zone of attack around the handle-chassis interface.

Abstract: A convertible door lock latch mechanism designed in a first embodiment as a new dead latch assembly and easily converted to a second embodiment as a spring latch assembly. The dead latch assembly comprises a drawbar, slidably attached to a bolt by a dead latch stop, and a dead latch plunger, all housed in a bolt housing. The bolt and the dead latch are biased in an extended position at least partly protruding from said bolt housing. The dead latch assembly is easily converted to a spring latch assembly by removing the dead latch plunger, removing the dead latch plunger spring, and removing the dead latch stop. A pull component is then attached to the bolt. The convertible door lock latch mechanism also provides an optional restore component which causes retraction of a drawbar when a bolt of the door lock latch mechanism is depressed. The door latch assembly utilizes a restore component positioned between a drawbar and a bolt of the latch assembly.

Abstract: A tubular lever lock includes a protruded connection part formed at the cross section of a pawl which slides along an inner spindle and interfaced with the operation of an eccentric hole of an operation globe. The spindles are structured to form and to protrude with a square pole passing through a latch by an appropriate distance. A key holder is formed on an outer bundle and is connected with a lock cylinder of an outer spindle, which enables a catch hub installed inwardly and elastically to rotate. With regard to the inner bundle and outer bundle, when built in, the key holder of the outer bundle causes connection with the operation globe through a square hole of a catch hub as well as a hole of the square pole.
