Counterbalance Patents (Class 295/6)
  • Patent number: 10252569
Abstract: A wheel for a motor vehicle having a wheel rim connected to a wheel flange via wheel spokes. At least one wheel spoke having a higher mass than at least one of the remaining wheel spokes. The higher mass of the at least one wheel spoke partially compensated for by the lower mass of the at least one remaining wheel spoke.

  • Patent number: 9770942
Abstract: A soundproof wheel includes a soundproofing device which is mounted to an inner peripheral surface of a rim section of the wheel. The soundproofing device is provided with: a fixing ring which is fitted in and fixed to a groove formed in the inner peripheral surface of the rim section; an elastic body section which is adhered to an outer peripheral surface of the fixing ring, is disposed within the groove, and has a plurality of elastic body pieces; and an additional mass section which is adhered to an opposite side of the elastic body section with respect to the fixing ring, is disposed within the groove, and has a plurality of additional mass pieces. The soundproofing device includes a plurality of dynamic vibration absorbers, each having an elastic body piece and an additional mass piece. This soundproof wheel allows for reduction in wheel vibration noise and is highly durable.

  • Patent number: 9696233
Abstract: Methods for correcting a rotational imbalance of a shaft are disclosed. The methods include determining a rotational imbalance of an unbalanced shaft, determining an imbalance correction and mapping the imbalance correction to predetermined points on the shaft. The imbalance correction can be implemented through the addition of mass to or the subtraction of mass from the shaft.

  • Patent number: 4254985
Abstract: A vibration damping assembly for a wheel or the like that undergoes rotation is achieved by providing an annular groove in a surface of the wheel which is coaxial with the axis of the wheel. A viscoelastic damping material subject to shear deformation during rotation of the wheel is positioned within the groove against the surface of the groove, and an annular metal ring is positioned in the groove against the viscoelastic damping material with the damping material sandwiched between the ring and wheel.
