Abstract: A knock-down furniture assembly includes (a) a seating assembly having a plurality of first end connectors and a plurality of second end connectors; (b) a first arm having a plurality of first arm connectors, each first arm connector and a corresponding first end connector defining a first pair of interlockable connectors for removably attaching the first arm to the seating assembly; and (c) a second arm including a plurality of second arm connectors, each second arm connector and a corresponding second end connector defining a second pair of interlockable connectors for removably attaching the second arm to the seating assembly. Each pair of interlockable connectors includes (i) a female bracket defining a bracket channel extending along a channel axis oriented generally vertically, and (ii) a male bracket having a slide member slidable into the bracket channel generally along the channel axis for interlocking thereof.

Abstract: Provided is an iron sofa frame structure provided with a base, two supporting plates oppositely disposed, configured to support a soft package and be connected with a sofa fabric and two driving link sets respectively configured to connect the two supporting plates to the base, wherein a front rod and a rear rod are correspondingly disposed at intervals between the two supporting plates, and several elastic bearing pieces for bearing the soft package are disposed between the front rod and the rear rod. The supporting assembly is directly combined to the iron sofa frame structure, so that a structure in which an additional seat-wrapped frame is introduced to support the soft package is rejected, an existing iron sofa frame structure and a production process of an iron sofa frame are simplified, the assembling and production efficiencies are increased, materials are saved, and the cost is reduced.

The furniture item can be an upholstered item in which the multiple components are stackable into a volume that is smaller than the assembled item of furniture for shipping. The connector assembly includes a keyhole slot on a frame member in one component and a male connector assembly on a frame member in the other assembly. The male connector includes a sleeve with a cylindrical shank and an adjacent enlarged or conical portion, and the sleeve, which may be plastic, is mounted the bolt. The narrow section of the keyhole slot has a beveled surface and as the sleeve progresses into the narrow section, engagement of the conical sleeve section with the beveled slot surface tightens the two members being attached.

Abstract: An aircraft seat includes a seat bottom frame, a seat translation and rotation mechanism attached to the seat bottom frame allowing translation and rotational movement of the seat bottom frame. An armrest is removably attached to the side of the seat bottom frame, and can be set to different positions relative to the seat bottom. The armrest has a seat control mounted to an outside of the armrest, and an input transfer mechanism disposed inside the armrest. The input transfer mechanism has an end engaged to the seat control, and a receiver end. The input transfer mechanism is cable-less. A couple shaft is engaged with the receiver end and engaged with the seat translation and rotation mechanism. When the seat control is actuated, the input transfer mechanism causes the seat translation and rotation mechanism to allow the seat bottom frame to at least one of translate and rotate.

Abstract: When a leg frame is assembled to a seat, the child chair is used as a high chair. When the leg frame is detached from the seat, the child chair may be served as a booster. Legs of the detached leg frame are further assembled with a footrest for storage purpose. The footrest has coupling slots that are formed by resilient arms to hold the detached legs. Abstract: The invention discloses unique brackets, which form a bracket assembly that may be placed at any location of various components to form an assembly piece, such as furniture. An assembled furniture piece made of furniture panels interconnected with attached engaging and receiving brackets is provided. The engaging and receiving brackets are positioned on components to facilitate the connection of the components. A method to assemble furniture having preformed arm, base, seat and back components is provided. This method of assembly saves on shipment costs, and facilitates the repair of damaged furniture.

Abstract: A modular furniture system is provided which allows an article of furniture to be “knocked down” into components and shipped. Upon reaching its destination, if desired, the article can be easily assembled without using tools. The components include a chassis, a back and end sections. The chassis includes upwardly extending blades which engage the back and end sections. The back and end sections include cams which are rotated to engage the chassis. When the cams are rotated to their locked positions, the blades are flexed away from the chassis to provide an interference fit between the chassis and the components.

The end pieces each include at least two slots configured to receive the self-locking tabs on the middle pieces. The middle pieces selectively couple to the end pieces to form a chair, with the self-locking tabs being received in the slots and configured to selectively lock the middle pieces to the end pieces.

Abstract: A recessed support assembly includes a ledge member having an upper portion and an attachment bore formed in the ledge member. A bracket conforms to the upper portion and includes a securement aperture aligned with the attachment bore. A first fastening device extends through the securement aperture and into the attachment bore, thus fixing the bracket to the ledge member. A bridging element is also included and is mated to the bracket via a second fastening device, which extends through an attachment aperture in the bracket and into the bridging element. An operative end of the second fastening device is captured between the bracket and the upper portion of the ledge.

The further includes a first and second locking member each having a crescent shape. The first distal end of the base is inserted though the second slot of the first sideboard and the second distal end of the base is inserted through the second slot in the second side board so that said first locking holes are positioned on an exterior side of each of said first and second sideboards.

Abstract: A dismantleable chair comprising a back member, leg members and a seat member all formed from generally two-dimensionally shaped materials such as plywood, and the like. The back member is somewhat arcuately shaped in both the horizontal and vertical cross-sections to provide superior seating comfort and strength. The arcuate shape also provides for a unique curved compressively pre-loaded joint design among the chair members, which substantially increases the strength and rigidity of the chair. The compressively preloaded joints are protected from bending and rotational loads by their respective positioning, and the presence of other spaced apart joints. The chair can be assembled and disassembled numerous times without loosing strength and rigidity.

Abstract: A fully upholstered, ready-to-assemble article of furniture which may be custom ordered by a consumer, packaged by the seller for shipment to the consumer by a parcel delivery service, and then assembled by the consumer from the packaged components. The article of furniture includes a frame of a plurality of interlocking, planar frame members which are secured together by fasteners received in push-in connector elements. Upholstery coverings, the design of which is custom selected by the consumer, are attached to the frame and secured to one another by hook and loop fasteners. Foam elements are received within a second plurality of upholstery covers which have large openings for receiving the foam elements to provide cushions for the article of furniture. The frame members, upholstery covers, and foam elements are packaged in first, second, and third containers, respectively, which are each light enough to be shipped for home delivery by a parcel delivery service.

Abstract: A ready-to-assemble (RTA) furniture system includes a collection of identically configured side panels, with sets of the side panels having different aesthetic and/or functional features, a collection of base panels and back panels spanning between pairs of side panels, the collection of base and back panels being provided in different sets of lengths and configurations to permit construction of different types of furniture. The panels are interconnected through a series of slots and notches. A locking member is provided that can be wedged into a slot to lock the entire RTA furniture item together. A second locking member can be provided to be wedged into a slot in the back panel to provide additional support for a base panel. A wide variety of furniture items are show that can be constructed using the two locking members.

Abstract: An article of furniture, viz., a chair, for institutional use such as in hospital waiting areas, school dormitories, military homes and the like. The chair includes two arms, a front member disposed between the arms, a seat back, a seat deck and a seat cushion. The arms are secured to the front member by screws that threadingly engage apertures therein. The seat back includes protrusions that are captured by a bracket disposed on each chair arm. Screws extend through apertures in both sides of the seat back and into threaded apertures in both arms, thereby fixing the seat back to the arms. The seat deck rests on a ledge in the seat back, secures to a flange on the front member by a screw and supports the seat cushion. The chair is upholstered with fabric having hook and loop strips around the perimeter that corresponds to hook and loop strips on each chair piece.

Abstract: An article of furniture which is readily convertible from a loveseat to a baby crib and vice versa. The loveseat/baby crib includes two main parts: a mattress supporting assembly and a frame assembly. The frame assembly includes a pair of side end panels, a vertically movable front side rail, and an immobile rear rail disposed between the panels. The mattress supporting assembly has a drawer for storing the baby crib mattress. A vertical sliding assembly connects the frame assembly to the mattress supporting assembly. The vertical sliding assembly allows the frame assembly to be height adjustable with respect to the mattress supporting assembly. The movable front side rail can be stored in the rear of the rear side rail in another embodiment by modifying the two rails.

Abstract: A chair with a disconnectable back so that the back can be moved from its normally upright mounted position relative to the seat to be placed against the seat so as to minimize space to facilitate shipping of the chair. The seat has a pair of receiving cavities located at the back edge of the seat. The back has a pair of protuberances which are to engage with the receiving cavities. The back also includes a spring biased pin assembly that is to deflect when moving of the back between a pair of armrest frames with the spring biased pin assemblies engaging with holes formed within each armrest frame thereby locking in place the back with the seat achieving the normal usage position for the chair.

Abstract: An easily assembled and disassembled modular furniture system is disclosed. The furniture system includes a base frame having a front member, a first side member, a second side member and a rear member. A plurality of furniture modules including a first arm module, a second arm module and one of a spring nest module and a sleeper module are mounted to the base frame using a plurality of fastener assemblies. Each fastener assembly includes two portions: a stud member and an aligning receptacle bracket. Each of the stud members and said brackets are secured to opposing locations of the base frame and at least one of the modules so that the modules may be positioned upon the frame by engaging the aligning receptacle brackets upon the corresponding stud members without the use of tools.

Abstract: An easily assembled and disassembled modular furniture system includes a base frame, a plurality of furniture modules including a first arm module, a second arm module, a seat suspension module and a backrest module, at least one fastener assembly for securing at least one of the modules to the base frame or the modules to each other. Also included is a replaceable upholstery cover for a corresponding one of at least one of the modules, the cover including a sheet of fabric with a first releasable fastener for tensioning the fabric in a first direction upon assembly to the module, and a second releasable fastener for tensioning the fabric in a second direction upon assembly to the module.

In one presently preferred embodiment of the present invention, the support frame includes an upper portion movably mounted to a lower portion. In such preferred embodiment, the lower portion includes a first leg, a second leg, and a seat mount, where the seat mount is comprised of an upper surface and a lower surface defining a space therebetween which is capable of receiving one or more seat members to form a seat. Further in such embodiment, the upper portion preferably has a backrest mount which includes a first surface and a second surface that define a space therebetween which is capable of receiving one or more backrest members to form a backrest.

The seat and back assembly includes a flat seat portion, a back portion, a set of one or more hinges connecting together the seat and back portions, and fabric or other material for supporting the user. The back portion has freedom to pivot relative to the seat portion and frame between a reclining position and an upright position, with the back portion being prevented from pivoting in a first rotational direction relative to the frame beyond the reclining position and the back portion being prevented from pivoting in the opposite rotational direction relative to the frame beyond the upright position.
