Motor Driven Carts Having Forwardly Dumping Body Patents (Class 298/1C)
  • Patent number: 6155648
Abstract: A power buggy is configured to be safe, stable, easy to control, and comfortable. Frequently-used controls such as dump controls, a speed control, and a directional control, are located at or very near handgrips of the operator's handle so as to permit the operator to control the vehicle without releasing either of the handgrips. For instance, speed and direction are both controlled by a bidirectional twist grip forming one of the handgrips. The twist grip must rotate through a neutral position before changing directional control from forward to reverse so that an operator cannot reverse the vehicle's direction of travel without first rather gradually reducing vehicle speed. Operator comfort is also enhanced by a fuel tank that shields the operator from the engine. The fuel tank also has a large capacity while simultaneously functioning as a support for side shrouds of the vehicle.

  • Patent number: 5360259
Abstract: Containing and dumping apparatus for releasable connection to a motorized utility vehicle having forward and rearward ends and a rack secured generally at one of the ends. The rack has a generally horizontal rail extending transversely relative to the vehicle. The apparatus comprises a bin and a connector for releasably and pivotably connecting the bin to the rack for movement of the bin about a generally horizontal axis between a cargo holding position in which the top of the bin faces generally upward for receiving a load of cargo and holding the load as it is transported by the vehicle, and a dumping position in which the top of the bin faces generally rearwardly relative to the vehicle for dumping the load from the bin.

  • Patent number: 5021763
Abstract: An environmentally sealed, EMI suppressed shock/vibration protected microcomputer workstation is provided by a sealed enclosure of stainless steel having a lower base portion for containing a dampened, spring suspension platform carrying the CPU and electronics, and an upper hood portion for housing the CRT which is removably held in place by a unique arrangement of support pins that cooperatively seat in quick release brackets affixed to the enclosure's interior walls. A front panel of the base portion mounts a stainless steel tactile dome keyboard retained and sealed about its perimeter within a stainless steel casement that in turn is welded to the stainless steel walls of the base portion.

  • Patent number: 4673131
Abstract: A mine dusting machine comprising a specialized hopper or scoop bucket having a floor, sides and ends and adapted for carrying substantially free-flowing particulate material, a powered ram on the hopper for pushing the material therein toward the front end thereof, a powered conveyor mounted within the hopper adjacent the front end for transporting the material toward opposite sides of the hopper, separate flingers mounted on the front end at least adjacent each of the sides and adapted to receive the material transported thereto by the conveyor, each of the flingers means having at least one rotatable blade for dispersing the material with considerable force in a generally arcuate pattern.

  • Patent number: 4645264
Abstract: A motorized dump-type vehicle is provided having a chassis frame, a gasoline engine mounted on said frame, a dump container pivotally mounted on the front of said frame and a hydraulic system enabling said container to be raised and lowered by a hydraulic cylinder and said vehicle to be driven in either forward or reverse directions and braked by hydraulic drive motors. The hydraulic fluid is cooled by an oil reservoir tank forming a structural part of the frame and positioned such that heat from the hydraulic fluid can dissipate itself in the container and its contents.

  • Patent number: 4178647
Abstract: A street sweeping machine is disclosed comprising a wheeled frame, a cab is supported by the frame, a dirt receiving hopper is positioned behind the cab, a conveyor is positioned adjacent the hopper and has an upper end overlying the hopper for depositing materials picked up from a roadway into the hopper. The conveyor is pivotally mounted for movement relative to the hopper and the frame. Hopper lift means is provided for rotating the hopper off of the frame from behind the cab over the cab for unloading of the picked-up materials in the hopper at a forward end of the cab. Linkage is connected between the hopper lift means and the conveyor for pivoting the conveyor on its pivot so that its upper end moves clear from its position of overlying the hopper to allow the hopper lift means to rotate the hopper free of interference from the conveyor during the lifting movement of the hopper. Ram means is also provided for operating the hopper lift means to rotate the hopper to be unloaded forward of the cab.

  • Patent number: 4071277
Abstract: A truck comprises a generally U-shaped frame and a dump body pivotally mounted forwardly on the frame and supported on a pair of laterally spaced and parallel side beams thereof. The dump body comprises four triangularly-shaped bottom wall portions converging downwardly to form an inverse pyramidal construction. A double-acting hydraulic cylinder is pivotally interconnected between the frame and dump body to selectively raise the dump body to discharge materials forwardly of the truck. An operator's cab is mounted on a forward end of one of the side beams.
