Blades Patents (Class 30/346)
  • Patent number: 11850762
Abstract: A food cutter apparatus with a blade portion and a handle portion. The blade portion is comprised of a single rigid material. The handle portion can be comprised of the same rigid material as the blade portion or a separate rigid material. The handle portion of the food cutter apparatus is located on top of the blade portion. A grater, slicer, or other kitchen tool elements are provided integral to the blade portion. A blade cover is provided to shield the user from the blade cutting edge while utilizing the kitchen tool elements. The handle portion and blade cover act as guides for the food product while utilizing the kitchen tool elements.

Abstract: The present invention relates to stripping devices by way of which a cable sheath can be removed from a cable end and in this way the cable core can be exposed. Such a stripping device for stripping a cable sheath from a cable comprises a first cutter half and a second cutter half which are movable towards one another in a first direction. The mutually facing lateral surfaces of the first and second cutter halves are spaced apart from one another at a spacing in a second direction substantially perpendicular to the first direction, and a voltage is applied to the first cutter half and the second cutter half. Furthermore, the stripping device has an evaluation unit connected to the first cutter half and the second cutter half, said evaluation unit being able to detect a current flow through the first cutter half and/or the second cutter half (10).

Abstract: An anti-stick kitchen knife blade consisting of a plurality of channels or scallops formed into the blade sides which begin at the top of the blade, along the spine of the blade, and continue towards the sharp edge of the blade, thereby providing an uninterrupted source of air between the knife blade sides and the material being cut. The channels or scallops end before reaching the blade edge. However, the air which is allowed to move within the scallops or channels helps to prevent a vacuum suction from being formed between the blade sides and the material during the action of cutting, regardless of the thickness of the material. This is especially effective for cutting moist materials such as fruits, vegetables and meats.

  • Patent number: 8739412
Abstract: The utility knife blade is a blade for a utility knife having a slot formed in the blade that is especially useful when scoring drywall. The slot may engage a tape measure adjacent the tape hook so that the cutting edge at the scoring tip of the blade extends below the tape measure hook to engage the sheet of drywall. The slot extends through the cutting edge into the body of the blade at a slight angle relative to normal, preferably about 10°. The blade has a slot at each end so that the blade may be reversed when one end is dulled or broken. The blade has an otherwise standard configuration, typically having a trapezoidal body with a cutting edge extending along the longer parallel edge and a pair of notches in the shorter parallel edge for engaging knife holder retainer pins in the slidable utility knife holder carriage.

Abstract: Ophthalmic surgical blades are manufactured from either a crystalline or polycrystalline material, preferably in the form of a wafer. The method comprises preparing the crystalline or polycrystalline wafers by mounting them and machining trenches into the wafers. Methods for machining the trenches, which form the bevel blade surfaces, include a diamond blade saw, laser system, ultrasonic machine, a hot forge press and a router. The wafers are then placed in an etchant solution which isotropically etches the wafers in a uniform manner, such that layers of crystalline or polycrystalline material are removed uniformly, producing single, double or multiple bevel blades. Nearly any bevel angle can be machined into the wafer which remains after etching. The resulting radii of the blade edges is 5-500 nm, which is the same caliber as a diamond edged blade, but manufactured at a fraction of the cost.

Abstract: An excision instrument includes a blade 2 mounted on the back surface of an elastic member 5 provided between gripping extensions 3, and is used by bringing the gripping extensions 3 close to each other to curve the elastic member 5 together with the blade 2 and by putting the convex surface produced on the blade 2 in a portion-to-be-removed. In the top surface of the elastic member 5, a plurality of slits 8, 9 and 10 are provided, and a plurality of projections 11 are provided between the slits 8, 9 and 10 so that contact parts 11a of the projections 11 are brought close to and into contact with each other via the slits 8, 9 and 10 when the elastic member 5 is curved. The contact parts 11a function as a curvature restricting part for restricting the curvature of the elastic member 5 or a flexural rigidity changing part for changing the flexural rigidity of the elastic member 5.

Abstract: An improved cutting blade on hand-held knives. The blade is thinner at the back than it is at the cutting surface. This blade shape constitutes a knife that cuts without resistance from its sides to the material being cut. This knife gets easier to sharpen the more it is sharpened due to less stock removal the closer the edge gets to the blade back. This knife is inexpensive to manufacture. The blade stock is only as thick as the thickest point of the cutting edge. Once the blade is profiled the only stock removal is at the blade's cutting surface.

Abstract: A scraper blade for fitting into a gripper such as a mounting, holding, or clamping device of a scraper. The inventive scraper blade is particularly useful with a floor scraper. The inventive scraper blade has a beveled edge portion, a flat portion, a skirt portion extending outward from the flat portion, and a shank portion fitting into a gripper of a scraper apparatus. The skirt portion has a generally vertical rear side which preferably rests against the nose of the gripper. A flat shank portion extends rearward from the rear side of the skirt portion and serves as the gripping surface of the blade for the gripper of the scraper apparatus. Dislodged material travels over the beveled edge portion, then over the flat portion, and then directed upward over the skirt portion and then over the nose of the gripper avoiding jamming at the gripper nose.

Abstract: A foil-cutting device is disclosed for opening a foil protecting a dose of medical power carried by a dosing cassette or the like for an inhaler device. The dosing cassette will in a typical embodiment carry a number of prepared doses (31), which for protection of the medical powder are covered by a metallic or plastic foil (24). The foil-cutter device of the present invention provides a tool (11) for accessing a selected sealed dose of medical powder of the cassette during an inhalation process using a dry powder inhaler (DPI). When a user inhales through the DPI the foil-cutter opens the foil (24) for access to a pre-metered powder dose (31). The foil-cutter arrangement ensures that no access is permitted to the pre-metered dose during any other circumstances. Particularly the present invention is adapted to be applied in an inventive continuous inhaler prolonging the release of a powder dose during the inhalation of the medical powder.
