  • Patent number: 8035475
Abstract: A resistor assembly and method of assembling a resistor to a coupling, comprises providing a resistor having a first end and a second end, the resistor being tubular in shape and providing a coupling housing having an open end for receiving the first end of the resistor, the coupling housing including a sealing member, a retainer, and a support washer. The retainer is interposed between the support washer and sealing member. The first end of the resistor is inserted into the open end of the coupling housing. The tube is rotated within the coupling housing so that the resistor is in sealing engagement with the sealing member and retained by retaining member.

  • Patent number: 6696964
Abstract: A device for monitoring the filling of a bag (10) comprises a resistor element to be mounted on the outside surface of the bag, the resistor element being a flexible potentiometer (20), the resistance whereof being changed by bending of the potentiometer due to increasing bulging of the bag wall under continuing filling of the bag. The flexible potentiometer can be connected to an alarm device (24) reacting at a predetermined resistance value of the resistor element.

  • Patent number: 4691187
Abstract: The invention comprises a variable linear resistor. It comprises a first plate having a recessed area cut into one face and a second plate parallel to and facing the face of the first plate with the recessed area. A length of elastic tubing is disposed in the recessed area. The distance between the two plates is adjustable, and this allows for the compression of the elastic tube.

  • Patent number: 4251710
Abstract: A resistor type arc welding machine comprises a housing capable of containing a cooling liquid; first and second main resistors serially connected to each other, the free end of the first resistor being connected to the current line of an alternating current source and the free end of the second resistor being connected to a holder for a welding electrode; one or more taps from intermediate points along said first and second main resistors, which taps may be connected, preferably through respective by-pass resistors, to the said holder instead of the free end of said second main resistor, to provide higher amperage outlets; and a direct line whose first end is connected to ground and whose second end is connected to the work piece to be welded, in order to complete the electrical circuit and to produce the welding arc; the above mentioned main resistors being arranged in an open and perforate support fixed in said housing such that the resistors will be continuously and completely submerged in the cooling liq

  • Patent number: 4114134
Abstract: A potentiometer includes a conductive member and a resistive member both enclosed in a flexible fluid-filled bag so that depression of a point on the bag causes the conductive member to touch a point on the resistive member. Latching means are provided to latch the bag in its depressed position at any point and two forms of visual indication are provided for displaying the resistance values selected.
