  • Patent number: 8817110
Abstract: Video processing arrangement including a host computer, a video asset coupled to the computer for generating video signals, and an interface for connecting the video asset to the computer to enable the display of the video signals on a monitor. The video asset includes primary elements such as a primary composite video module that produces different types of a primary video signal and outputs the primary video signal, and a secondary video source module that produces a secondary composite video signal and outputs the secondary composite video signal. The primary composite video module includes a memory component including a user-programmable sequence of bits representative of a video signal and user-programmable signal generators synchronized to the primary video signal output of the primary composite video module. The memory component includes four user specified pulse memories which each hold a series of arbitrary bit line patterns.

  • Patent number: 7315417
Abstract: An apparatus and methods that facilitate efficient and easy installation of a display screen and protective shield onto a cabinet of a display unit such as a projection TV (PTV) and the like. Preferably, a screen frame and bezel clip system includes a bezel clip having a latch arm releaseably coupleable to catch arm extending from or attached to a cabinet side wall of a display unit. The bezel clip further includes one or more receptacles sized and shaped to receive and retain a side or edge portion of one or more screens. The catch arm is preferably deformable under pressure and returns to a pre-stressed orientation when the pressure is removed. Alternatively, a screen frame and bezel mount system includes a stiffener member adapted to couple a bezel member to a cabinet side wall of a display unit. The bezel member includes one or more receptacles sized and shaped to receive and retain a side or edge portion of one or more screens.

  • Patent number: 6661463
Abstract: Processes for selecting, manipulating and arranging data points or pixels derived from information bearing signals are useful to reduce the bandwidth of, or improve the perceived quality of, such a signal as transmitted and displayed. The techniques utilize time-varying sampling schemes and take into account the characteristics of the human visual system. For each information frame, a subset (3) of all possible data points (1) is selected (2). A further subset of active data points (5) is selected (4) for which data will actually be sampled. The active points (5) are further divided (6) into points for which a value will be transmitted (x-points) (7) and points which will be sampled but for which no separate value will be transmitted (o-points) (8). A mathematical association between the x-points and o-points is made (9) and new values to be transmitted are calculated for the x-points (10).

  • Patent number: 6025882
Abstract: Methods and devices for incorporating additional information, such as HDTV side strips, into the blanking intervals of a previous frame. These may be used in conjunction with Inventor's time-varying STS techniques or otherwise. The information thus incorporated may be used, in addition to HDTV side strips, for the incorporation of data that may represent: additional definition; information that may be used to convert a monoscopic image into a left and right pair, or the second of a pair; various area maps which may be used to apply a multiplicity of algorithms to separate areas of an image; motion analysis information; interactive or gaming information; multimedia or hypermedia information; or, otherwise. Off-line computation and recording may be used to advantage at the encoding end of the process, as well as pipelined architecture at the reception end.

  • Patent number: 5361101
Abstract: An RGB preamplifier for a video display includes respective multipliers independently operable for adjusting the contrast of input primary and secondary video signals. The contrast adjusted video signals are added to form a combined display signal, the combined signal being applied to the first inputs of primary and secondary comparators each of which is also supplied with a respective reference DC level. The primary and secondary video signals are alternately nulled at horizontal line rate by nulling the corresponding multipliers. The primary comparator samples the combined signal when the secondary signal is nulled for clamping the DC level of the primary signal in relation to the primary reference DC level and the secondary comparator samples the combined signal when the primary signal is nulled for clamping the DC level of the secondary signal in relation to the secondary reference DC level.
