Abstract: Software testing techniques based on image recognition are disclosed. In various embodiments, a programmatically implemented image classifier is trained to recognize a screen shot image as being associated with a transaction end condition of a transaction. A test script configured to initiate an iteration of the transaction is run. A start time of the iteration of the transaction is recorded. Screen shot images are generated during performance of the iteration of the transaction to capture a series of screen shot images of at least a portion of a user interface display associated with the iteration of the transaction. The image classifier is used to find an earliest-captured image that matches the transaction end condition. A time associated with the matched image is used as a transaction end time to compute an end-to-end time to perform the iteration of the transaction.

Abstract: An extended video graphics array (VGA) adapter includes first and second conversion circuits, a switch unit, and an interface. The first conversion circuit includes a digital to analog (D/A) converter and a coupler. The second conversion circuit includes an analog to digital (A/D) converter and a decoupler. When the switch unit connects the first conversion circuit to the interface, the D/A converter converts a digital signal representing data into a first analog form data for coupling with a first alternating current (AC) voltage. When the switch unit connects the second conversion circuit to the interface, the decoupler decouples and separates a second analog form data into the second analog form data. The A/D converter converts the second analog form data into digital signals representing data, and outputs the digital signals representing data to the interface.

Abstract: In order to process a subband signal of a plurality of real subband signals which are a representation of a real discrete-time signal generated by an analysis filter bank, a weighter for weighting a subband signal by a weighting factor determined for the subband signal is provided to obtain a weighted subband signal. In addition, a correction term is calculated by a correction term determiner, the correction term determiner being implemented to calculate the correction term using at least one other subband signal and using another weighting factor provided for the other subband signal, the two weighting factors differing. The correction term is then combined with the weighted subband signal to obtain a corrected subband signal, resulting in reduced aliasing, even if subband signals are weighted to a different extent.

Abstract: Alpha images are efficiently encoded for inclusion in video bitstreams. During encoding, alpha image data is quantized as a first step before differential encoding. The quantized alpha image data is then differential encoded and represented in a modulo domain before entropy encoding to take advantage of certain distribution features of typical alpha image data. During decoding, a decoder performs differential decoding of encoded alpha image data before dequantization. During differential decoding, the data is converted from a modulo domain to a continuous domain. Dequantization is performed using a technique which results in reconstructed alpha image values which include 0 and maximal values within the acceptable alpha image data range so that the process preserves these values for reconstructed alpha images.

Abstract: An intra prediction method for a luma block of a video is provided. The present invention provides a solution for unifying the intra prediction of the luma block of the video, which simplifies a plurality of prediction equations defined by video standard. The predication values of common terms in the prediction equations are calculated in advance and directly selected for predicting the luma block of the video. Accordingly, only a few function parameters or register settings are needed to be modified, and then a plurality of prediction modes may use the same software function or hardware circuit to obtain the prediction values.

The reference picture index numbers increase for reference pictures having a decreasing display order with respect to a picture including the macroblock. The reference picture index numbers increase for reference pictures having an increasing display order with respect to the picture including the macroblock, and the reference picture index numbers of the reference pictures having a decreasing display order are less than the reference picture index numbers of the reference pictures having an increasing display order.

Abstract: The present invention relates to an image capturing apparatus and method in which the image recording time is reduced and the memory capacity required for compression is also reduced. A number-of-bytes calculation unit 302 determines the number of bytes after compression based on an integrated value of high-frequency integrated data supplied from a high-frequency integration processor. Based on the determined number of bytes, a Q-scale calculation unit 303 determines a Q-scale based on which the image data can be compressed one time to a predetermined data size. A Q-table generation unit 304 generates a Q-table based on the Q-scale. A DCT unit 321 performs a discrete cosine transform on the input image data. A quantization processor 322 adjusts the compression ratio of the image data based on the up-to-date Q-table supplied from the Q-table generation unit 304.

Abstract: Methods and systems for providing a video interface between a handheld video player and a television are disclosed herein. Aspects of the method may include activating a video processing interface that enables processing of input video signals in a compressed format suitable for display on a handheld video player; and generating corresponding output video signals suitable for display on a television. The input signal may be received via a dedicated connector on the television. The activation of the video processing system may utilize a menu selectable software button or a hardware selector video input button. The dedicated connector may be labeled on the television. The processing of the video input signal may utilize digital noise reduction (DNR) such as mosquito noise reduction (MNR) and block noise reduction (BNR). The video signal processing may comprise compression artifact reduction.

Abstract: The present invention relates to a new method for generating motion compensated picture by interpolating two consecutive source pictures without using motion estimator. For a given pixel to be interpolated, all displacements within a given search range between former and next frame are considered and for each displacement the displaced block difference is calculated. The pixel value is then equal to the sum of each averaged pixel pair within the search range weighted by a correlation coefficient function of the corresponding displaced block difference.
