  • Patent number: 7621649
Abstract: A light distribution controller for discharge lamps having improved lamp efficiency while maintaining a specific lighting posture. The controller includes a lighting source (1) in which electric discharge is caused between opposed electrodes (2, 4) to radiate light, a reflecting mirror (5) for reflecting a flux of light radiated from the light source (1) to control the light flux angle, and travel path changing mirror (7) for changing the travel path of the flux of light whose divergence is controlled by the reflecting mirror (5). The light source (1) is arranged such that the axial line connecting the electrodes (2, 4) of the light source (1) or a reference line used for another posture specification is substantially aligned with the center line of the flux of light controlled by the reflecting mirror (5). The path changing mirror (7) can change the direction in which the controlled flux of light travels to a desired direction with respect to the center line of the controlled flux of light.

  • Patent number: 6238059
Abstract: A various color light refraction bulb is disclosed. The bulb includes a lamp tube, tungsten silks and a core pillar. A concave ring is formed at a middle section of the lamp tube, so as to divide the core tube into an upper tube and a lower tube. The concave ring serves to refract light from the upper and lower tubes so as to present various colors. A cone shape surface is used to seal the lower side of the lower tube and is used as a reflecting region so as to project light toward the lamp tube; and therefore, a various light refraction bulb is formed.

  • Patent number: 5440463
Abstract: A unique two filament flashlight lamp in which one filament is energized to produce a spot beam and the second filament is energized to produce a broad beam. A spot beam is formed when the filament is energized whose axis is perpendicular to the reflector axis and whose center is at the reflector focal point, a broad beam is formed when the second filament is energized whose axis coincides with the reflector axis and has one end located close to the focal point. In the second embodiment, a lamp having a single filament whose center is located at the reflector focal point and whose axis is perpendicular to the reflector axis will produce a spot beam. The lamp and filament can be reoriented so that the filament axis coincides with the reflector axis and one end of the filament is close to the reflector focal point to produce a broad beam.

  • Patent number: 4598342
Abstract: A low wattage tungsten-halogen lamp with an improved filament construction comprising a pair of selectively activated filaments, each having a plurality of coil turns, being intercoupled by a relatively short intermediate member. Preferably, both of the filaments and the intermediate member are formed from a single wire. The spacing between turns of each filament is greater about the central portion of the filament than at the opposed end portions thereof, thereby enhancing visible radiation. Xenon gas, at a pressure of fifteen atmospheres, is preferably used as the inert gas fill for the lamp due to its low thermal conductivity.
