  • Patent number: 11720239
Abstract: While a computer system is within a threshold proximity to a predetermined location that is associated with an event, and in accordance with a determination that a triggering condition is satisfied, where the determination that the triggering condition is satisfied includes a determination that an action associated with the event has occurred, the computer system displays a notification associated with a watch face that includes content related to the event. While the computer system is within a threshold proximity to the predetermined location, and in accordance with a determination that the triggering condition is not satisfied, the computer system forgoes display of the notification. While displaying the notification, the computer system detects an input corresponding to selection of the notification. In response to detecting the input corresponding to selection of the notification, the computer system initiates a process for adding the watch face to the computer system.

  • Patent number: 9477320
Abstract: The present invention is a data entry device featuring a novel way of touch-typing on a small smart-device using two or more opposing touchpad surfaces positioned around a display, said surfaces comprising a housing. Bumps or other touch sensitive features are arrayed around the periphery of a digital display on the device. The bumps or other touch sensitive features provide both a locating means for finger placement and a zone for sensing the shift of a pressure point or sensing motion of the finger along the surface, the shift or motion in a preferred direction indicating a selection from a displayed menu to be made by lifting the finger from contact. A novel way of holding the device by its wrist band or handle or strap while fingering the bumps leads to a fluid method of keying functionalities for use as a phone and as an internet-enabled texting device.

  • Patent number: 9411372
Abstract: A wearable device includes a battery casing, an upper machine body, a first elastic member and a button. The battery casing has a battery accommodating space and an engaged member. The upper machine body is pivotally connected to the battery casing to cover or expose the battery accommodating space. Two ends of the first elastic member are fixed to the upper machine body and the button, respectively. The button includes a hook movably fixed to or released from the engaged member. When the battery casing is at a first position, the upper machine body covers the battery casing to shield the battery accommodating space, and the hook is fixed to the engaged member. Pushing the button to press the first elastic member, the button is released from the engaged member, and the battery casing is rotated to a second position to expose the battery accommodating space.

Abstract: Disclosed are techniques for displaying notifications on a watchface. In one or more implementations, a watchface is displayed on a display of a smartwatch. The watchface occupies an entire display area of the display and indicates a current time in a first region of the watchface. In some cases, the watchface uses one or more rotating pointers or rotating dials to indicate the current time. Responsive to receiving a notification, the notification is displayed at a second region of the watchface such that the current time is visible in the first region of the watchface.

Abstract: The invention is a method and system for graphical representation of time. In this invention the hours are represented by an hour symbol drawn in a display area. The minutes of the hour are represented by a translation attribute of the hour symbol, which changes the hour symbol proportionally as the minutes of the hour lapse. The translation attribute may be position, size, rotation, a combination or other attributes. In a preferred embodiment, the visual identification of the minute is enhanced by the addition of a proportional change in the state of the background to indicate the minutes past the hour.

  • Patent number: 9244435
Abstract: A timepiece, which includes an ornamental body; a drive mechanism that moves the ornamental body; an output portion that outputs a sound; and a control portion that performs movement control for outputting a piece of theme music and moving the ornamental body from an initial position. The control portion further performs return control for outputting a piece of ending music and moving the ornamental body to the initial position after the movement control is finished. Under the return control, the outputted and selected pieces of ending music have different lengths depending on whether or not a position of the ornamental body is in front of a reference position. It is thus possible to design the movement pattern of the ornamental body under the movement control, without consideration of the stop positions of the ornamental body at the end of the movement control period; thereby, allowing for a wide variety of appearances for the timepiece.
