  • Patent number: 6993825
Abstract: A tilt adjusting method for a recording medium driving apparatus including a linear driving device including first and second parallel guide shafts. The method provides a flat mirror on a turntable, an auto-collimator, and a skew angle adjusting jig including an optically flat surface. In a first state of the jig, a height of the second end of the first shaft is adjusted so that a tilt of the first shaft in a radial direction matches a tilt of the mirror, and a height of the first end of the second shaft is adjusted so that a tilt of the first shaft in a tangential direction matches the tilt of the mirror. And, in a second state of the jig, a height of the second end of the second shaft is adjusted so that a tilt of the second shaft in a radial direction matches the tilt of the mirror.

  • Patent number: 5369630
Abstract: An optical information recording/reproducing apparatus which records, reproduces or erases information by irradiating a disk-like optical information recording medium, supported on a turn table, with a plurality of beam spots through an optical system. A mechanism for moving the turn table in a direction substantially perpendicular to a tracking direction which extends radially from an axis of the information recording medium and intersects at least one of the beam spots, is used to effect tracking adjustment of the beam spots. A mechanism for rotating the plurality of beam spots on the optical axis of the optical system is also used in combination with the turn table moving mechanism to extend the range of tracking adjustment of the plurality of beam spots.

  • Patent number: 5040164
Abstract: A record player is provided with a turntable brake for instantly stopping the turntable of the record player in playback when desired and a pair of balance wheels for permitting slant of the turntable within a predetermined range when manually operating the turntable. The turntable hereof has a peripheral drum portion extending downwardly from its bottom and a rubber shoe is mounted on one end of a pivoted lever arm. The lever arm is adapted to be actuated to press the rubber shoe against the drum portion of the turntable for stopping rotating movement of the turntable by means of friction.

  • Patent number: 4539671
Abstract: A disk recording and/or reproducing apparatus includes a cover mounted on a main body for movement between open and closed positions, a disk presser unit operably mounted on the cover of the apparatus such that it cooperates with a spindle drive unit for holding the disk, a holder cover attached to the cover for movement therewith, and a controller to control the holder to permit movement of the disk presser when the cover is in the closed position, so that when the spindle unit and disk table are moved radially relative to the disk, the presser unit is moved as well.

  • Patent number: 4381556
Abstract: There is disclosed a device for displacing a video disk with respect to a reading head which includes the driving of a conductive disk by means of a video disk rotational motor. The conductive disk passes through the air gaps of two electromagnets located on either side of the displacement axis of a movable member supporting the rotational motor. By differentially energizing the electromagnets, a force is produced which provides for forward and backward movement of the complete movable member of the reader.

  • Patent number: 4258233
Abstract: In a video disc player, a carriage is subject to translatory motion in correlation with radial motion of a playback stylus relative to a disc record. A stylus arm carrying the stylus at one end thereof has the other end pivotally secured to the carriage. A permanent magnet is mounted on the stylus arm near its free end. A pair of spaced coils having non-magnetic cores are disposed on the carriage such that the stylus arm-mounted magnet is interposed therebetween. The coils are selectively energized to change the radial location of the stylus relative to the record.
