  • Patent number: 11962463
Abstract: A framework for joint computation, caching, and request forwarding in data-centric computing-based networks comprises a virtual control plane, which operates on request counters for computations and data, and an actual plane, which handles computation requests, data requests, data objects and computation results in the physical network. A throughput optimal policy, implemented in the virtual plane, provides a basis for adaptive and distributed computation, caching, and request forwarding in the actual plane. The framework provides superior performance in terms of request satisfaction delay as compared with several baseline policies over multiple network topologies.

Abstract: Systems, methods, and devices can be utilized for policy control function (PCF) fallback during the set up of a session utilizing a 5th Generation (5G) core network. An example method includes receiving, from a session management function (SMF), a request for a policy corresponding to a session. The request includes a first policy identifier corresponding to a first policy control function (PCF). The example method further includes determining that the first PCF is unavailable, generating a modified request by replacing the first policy identifier with a second policy identifier in the request. The second policy identifier corresponds to a second PCF. The example method also includes transmitting, to the second PCF, the modified second request.

  • Patent number: 11856097
Abstract: A network interface card, such as a SmartNIC, is used to provide encryption, such as network encryption virtual function (NEVF), for a virtual machine, so that a customer can control network keys in a virtual cloud network. The NEVF includes a memory device (e.g., SRAM) and a crypto processor (e.g., a crypto core). The memory device stores a crypto key. The crypto processor uses the crypto key to encrypt data to and from a virtual machine in the virtual cloud network. A key management system can be used to securely transfer crypto keys to the NEVF. Having one NEVF per virtual machine can enable a customer to manage the crypto key for a virtual cloud network.

Abstract: Embodiments of a STA configured for proximity detection by multiple WLAN link tracking are disclosed herein. In some embodiments, the STA performs WLAN sensing using two or more WLAN links with one or more other STAs to track a channel state of each link and performs motion detection based on the tracked channel state of each WLAN link to detect motion in any of the WLAN links. If motion is detected in at least some of the WLAN links, the STA may perform proximity detection to indicate proximity by combining results of the WLAN sensing for each link to determine whether the motion is proximate to the STA or proximate to one of the other STAs.

The content management system may then assign the content items to one or more events. The event assignments may then be sent back to the user device, allowing the content items to be locally displayed according to their events as if the content items had already been uploaded to the content management system.

Abstract: Embodiments of the present disclosure disclose a service transmission method and a device and a system for implementing the method. The method includes: recognizing a type of a received client service, encapsulating an OTN service, and generating an OTN signal frame or a lower order ODU; querying a tag forwarding base to acquire forwarding information of the OTN signal frame or the lower order ODU; acquiring tag information, and inserting the tag information into an overhead of the OTN signal frame or the lower order ODU; and forwarding the OTN signal frame according to the forwarding information. Therefore, in the embodiments of the present disclosure, the forwarding and the transmission of the service may be performed in an OTN plane only, thereby reducing hardware modules of an MPLS plane.

Each of the data streams includes contiguous, non-overlapping data sets of a first media content, and each of the data streams has a unique data rate relative to one or more of the other data streams. A request is received from a device to stream a next segment of the first media content from one of the data streams to the device, the next segment including one or more of the data sets of the first media content. In response to the request, the next segment is streamed from the one of the data streams via a buffer to the device.

  • Patent number: 9692693
Abstract: Techniques are described for specifying and constructing multi-protocol label switching (MPLS) rings. Routers may signal membership within MPLS rings and automatically establish ring-based label switch paths (LSPs) as components of the MPLS rings for packet transport within ring networks. In one example, a router includes a processor configured to establish an MPLS ring having a plurality of ring LSPs. Each of the ring LSPs is configured to transport MPLS packets around the ring network to a different one of the routers operating as an egress router for the respective ring LSP. Moreover, each of the ring LSPs comprises a bidirectional, multipoint-to-point (MP2P) LSP for which any of the routers can operate as an ingress to source packet traffic into the ring LSP for transport to the respective egress router for the ring LSP. Separate protection paths, bypass LSPs, detours or loop-free alternatives need not be signaled.

  • Patent number: 9621470
Abstract: Existing resource reservation techniques are inefficient for M2M communications. In an example embodiment described herein, a system comprises a service layer server that resides on a service layer and a control plane node that resides on an access network, wherein the service layer server communicates with the control plane node via a control plane interface. The control plane interface can be used to configure quality of service (QoS) policies (rules) that are based on an object that is being addressed. In this context, for example, an object may be a memory location or value. For example, the service layer may configure one or more QoS rules for the access network based on the object by sending a QoS provisioning message that includes one or more parameters to the control plane node. The control plane node may determine the object that is identified in the one or more QoS rules, and the QoS rules may be distributed to one or more routers that may be used to access the object.
