Abstract: Methods and devices for providing an improved call setup in a telephony network are provided. In at least one embodiment, a telephony terminal sends a call route select request to a call route select server. The call route select server determines a preferred call route from the telephony terminal to the called destination and sends a call route select response to the telephony terminal. The call route select response comprises information on how to setup the call.

Abstract: An apparatus and method for cooperative maximal ratio transmission in a BWA communication system are provided, in which a BS transmits a signal directed to a user terminal to an RS in a first time slot, the RS transmits the signal received from the BS to the user terminal in a second time slot, and the user terminal receives the signal from the RS.

Abstract: A method is provided that comprises detecting, by a first user terminal of a wireless system, a second user terminal having wireless system information. The wireless system information has timely wireless system parameters. The timely wireless system parameters are collected from the second user terminal. The first user terminal communicates with a base station based on the wireless system parameters.

Abstract: A computer implemented method, and apparatus for changing a state of a remote switch box. On a master switch box, a request is received from a user to set a state of the remote switch box to a selected state. A request to change the remote switch box to the selected state is transmitted from the master switch box to the remote switch box. The remote switch box connects a remote phone to a phone line. The master switch box receives a confirmation from the remote switch box of the change to the selected state. The confirmation contains the state of the remote switch box. The state of the remote switch box is displayed on the master switch box.
