Abstract: Methods, systems, and computer readable media for routing of packets for lawful interception (LI). A system includes at least one session border controller (SBC) configured for forwarding media streams to a forwarding function. The system includes the forwarding function, implemented on a centralized node for a telecommunications network. The forwarding function is configured for receiving the media streams and forwarding each media stream to a respective lawful intercept mediation server for at least one country associated with the media stream. The forwarding function is configured for, in response to receiving a first packet of a first media stream from the SBC, performing a destination lookup for the first media stream and sending a mediation server identifier for the first media stream to the SBC. The SBC can be configured for sending a session release indicator and a direction flag to the forwarding function.

  • Patent number: 11412007
Abstract: A network device may receive a request, to install a filter, that includes information identifying a first source address, a first destination address, a content destination device, and a tapping level indicator. The network device may create an additional filter, based on the tapping level indicator, by setting the first destination address as a second source address, determining a third destination address that is a destination for the second source address, and setting the third destination address as a third source address. The network device may add the filter and the additional filter to a list of filters, and may receive, from source devices, packets destined for destination devices. The network device may generate a copy of a packet, and may determine that the copy of the packet matches the filter or the additional filter. The network device may forward the copy of the packet to the content destination device.

Abstract: Systems and methods are provided for dynamically routing packets using multi-flow and multi-path multiplexing connections. A first computing device and second computing device communicate via a plurality of data flows, which may be routed across various network paths. Each flow is defined by a set of network addresses, a set of ports, and a protocol specification, such as UDP. The second device sends information to the first device regarding the various data flows. The first device may send probing packets to facilitate collecting data flow information. Information may include latency, packet loss, and other values. Based on the information received, the first device may select or prioritize data flows to mitigate congestion, and address performance criteria. The first device may also transmit information regarding selected data flows to other devices, allowing the other devices to utilize a selected data flow even if they lack multiplexing capability.

Abstract: Systems and methods for legal interception of the transmission of personalized ring back tones as they are sent from a network such as a mobile telephone network associated with a subscriber to a caller in response to a call placed by the caller to the subscriber to allow monitoring of personalized ring back tones and/or their associated call content data. The personalized ring back tone is intercepted at an intercept access point on the network, where the systems and methods of the invention then transmit the intercepted personalized ring back tone to an authorized person or entity, such as a law enforcement agency.

  • Patent number: 8223927
Abstract: The present application relates to monitoring non-local originating calls in a telecommunication system having a local network part and a non-local network part. A monitoring centre is attached to an Intercept Access Point in the local network part. A monitoring request comprising an external target identification is received from the monitoring centre to the Intercept Access point. A call is set-up of from an originating subscriber in the non-local network part, towards the local network part. An Initial Address Message comprising the originating subscriber's identity is received to the Intercept Access point from the non-local network part. A match is found between the Initial Address Message and the received target identification. Monitoring information related to the matched target is transferred from the Intercept Access Point to the monitoring centre.

  • Patent number: 8218456
Abstract: Systems, methods and communication nodes according to exemplary embodiments provide for an IMS node to replicate call content for lawful call interception in packet cable networks. A CSCF node sends a command to an SBC node to perform call content replication for an identified call to be intercepted. The SBC node forwards the replicated call content to a delivery function, which in turn forwards the replicated call content to the appropriate law enforcement agency.

  • Patent number: 8204175
Abstract: A variety of methods and systems can be used to achieve electronic surveillance when a call is directed to a destination as a result of service processing. For example, in a system involving a redirecting switch and a service platform switch, correlation between calling party identities for outgoing and incoming call legs can be done to identify a hairpin loop scenario. Upon detection of such a scenario, an appropriate electronic surveillance message can be sent to a monitoring device indicating the call's destination. Correlation information can be collected from available call setup signaling parameters. The methods and systems can be applied, for example, to systems involving directory assistance call completion, voice-activated dialing, voicemail callback, and prepaid services.

Abstract: A system and method for securely authenticating and lawfully intercepting data in a telecommunication network using biometrics is disclosed. In one embodiment, in a method for securely authenticating and lawfully intercepting data using biometrics, one or more persons associated with a law enforcement agency (LEA) are authenticated by a telecommunication network provider. The authentication is performed upon receiving a request for lawful interception of data from the one or more persons associated with the LEA. Then, the lawful interception request associated with a registered telecommunication network user is activated to obtain the data. The data is intercepted user upon a successful match with a requested registered telecommunication network user by the LEA. Further, intercepted data along with the biometric information associated with the registered telecommunication network user is sent to the authenticated one or more persons associated with the LEA via the telecommunication network.
