Abstract: Eyewear that is configured to be wirelessly charged and also wirelessly communicate with a case charger having a battery using time gating power transfer. In one example, wireless charging and bidirectional communication of the eyewear can be performed using a unidirectional communication protocol, such as the Qi baseline power profile (BPP) which is only suited for unidirectional communication. The eyewear has a processor configured to send data to the wireless power charger that instructs the wireless power charger to stop wireless charging for a time period that is correlated to a state of charge (SOC) of the wireless power charger battery. The wireless power charger resumes charging of the eyewear battery after the time period, and the eyewear determines the SOC of the wireless power charger battery to be a percentage that correlates to the time period.

Abstract: Disclosed are methods and devices for adapting a ringtone in accordance with ambient noise. In one embodiment a method includes processing an ambient noise signal to determine an ambient noise volume. When there is an incoming communication and it is determined that the ambient noise has a low ambient noise volume, a method can include generating a ringtone having a ringtone volume that is initially a low volume and increasing the ringtone volume over a predetermined period of time. A method can include applying a filter to the ringtone signal to increase a signal-to-noise ratio, the filter configured to increase an amplitude of a frequency that is not one of the predominant frequencies of the ambient noise and that the transducer is configured to output according to the transducer frequency response. In another embodiment, a second transducer may generate a ringtone output in addition to the first transducer.

  • Patent number: 8897431
Abstract: Power is supplied to telecom equipment in DSLAM outdoor/remote cabinets with relatively short distances between the subscriber and the cabinet. All of the subscriber Customer Premises Equipment connected to the DSLAM each provide a portion of the required power to the remote cabinet via the telephone line connecting the DSLAM and the subscriber CPE. The CPE at the subscriber premises is already connected to power mains in the subscriber premises so, providing power, via the telephone line to the outdoor cabinet is relatively simple. The remote cabinet includes a circuit for receiving the power input from each subscriber and then distributing the power, required by the DSLAM load, equally among the subscribers.
