Abstract: A method, system, and computer-readable medium with executable code for connecting an outgoing phone call to a user destination device based on the time the phone call is initiated. A user of a user destination device transmits a policy information packet containing contact numbers of a primary user destination device and all secondary user destination devices that the user may be reached at during specific times of the day to a call originating device. In response to the user of a call originating device initiating a request to connect a phone call to the user destination device, the call originating device autonomously selects the correct recipient user destination device by interpreting the policy information packet. In a large-angle inclined state of the telephone, first and second engaging sections of the second leg are in engagement with first and second engaged sections of the first leg, respectively. When an excessive load is applied to the telephone in the direction of the arrow, the engaging sections are elastically deformed, being brought out of engagement with the engaged sections. Accordingly, the second leg tilts onto a desk into parallel with the desk. Consequently, the second leg is subjected to no longitudinal load. Thus, even if the second leg is not strong in structure, the second leg can be prevented from breaking.

Abstract: A telephone includes an upper casing, a lower casing, and a receiver transmitter. The lower casing has a pair of projecting support sections at one end of the bottom, to which a first leg is rotatably mounted. The first leg includes a rotatable and slidable second leg.

Abstract: The present invention relates to a locking arrangement for a terminal device of a telecommunication system. To improve the operating reliability of the terminal device, the attachment and locking of the structural elements changeable by the user to the rest of the device structure is improved by a locking device which consists of a solid piece (100) to be fitted into the terminal device in the different places of the frame part of which one has formed separate spring-like locking elements, each of which functions as a locking device of some structural element of this kind of the terminal device. The first spring-like locking element (20) may e.g. be adapted to lock the accumulator of the terminal device to the accumulator space reserved for it, and the second locking element (40) to lock the smart card of the terminal device to the space reserved for it in the terminal device. In the same locking piece there may also be locking elements (30, 31) for locking the accumulator cover in place.

Abstract: The present invention relates to a locking arrangement for a cover structure of a portable terminal device of a telecommunication system. The cover structure comprises at least one frame part (14), a cover part (16) connected to the frame part that can be removed from the frame part by the user, and locking elements for attaching the cover part to the frame part. In order that one could achieve a secure attachment and locking for the accumulator cover or accumulator packet of the device that at the same time enables the eliminating of the excessive clearances between the can parts, the locking elements comprise, in the frame part and cover part, slide bars (50, 51) and slide grooves (80) corresponding to each other.

Abstract: A portable communication device includes a rotating member and a latching mechanism which employs a magnet means and a quantity of magneto-rheological fluid (“MR” fluid) or electro-rheological (“ER”) fluid therein to latch the rotatable member against the primary body of the portable communication device when a magnetic or electric field is positioned proximate to the MR or ER fluid. The rotating member can be a low-profile flip and/or antenna. The magnet means can be an electromagnetic field or at least one translatable permanent magnet. Additionally, a portable communication device with a translating antenna and an antenna receptacle and elbow also includes a quantity of magneto-rheological fluid therein. The device can also include an externally accessible latch release which controls the application of the magnetic field to the MR fluid (or electric filed to the ER fluid). Associated latching mechanisms employ rheological fluid and a magnetic or electric field source.

Abstract: The present apparatus is a device interposed between a phone set and a telephone jack. It is secured by a lock and hasp to a post or frame member so that it overshadows and prevents access to a conventional telephone jack and the wall plate surrounding the jack. When locked in place, and connected serially between the phone set and the telephone line, it includes the user to input a PIN number, and to thereby make calls to specified telephone numbers (one or more). A field in memory stores unique PIN numbers for the users and calls numbers, and keeps track of available time not yet used by the N users. By decrementing with each call, the elapsed total time can be tracked. Charges can be controlled by limiting the authorized telephone numbers.

  • Patent number: 5818931
Abstract: A telephone line access control apparatus to restrict access to an outgoing telephone line may be placed in a locked mode to restrict access to the telephone line, or in an unlocked mode to enable full and unrestricted access to the controlled telephone line. The apparatus supports the answering of all incoming calls, and when in the locked mode restricts access to the telephone line by enabling a person to dial only preselected emergency telephone numbers. The invention is configured with a filter, which may be coupled to the telephone line, as required, to restrict the dialing and placing of unauthorized telephone numbers. Another embodiment of the invention is arranged with a plug that may be plugged into a telephone jack in a secured manner so that the apparatus may only be unlocked and removed from the telephone jack by individuals having a key.
