End Structure (e.g. Bottom) Patents (Class 383/121)
  • Patent number: 11375783
Abstract: A containment device that converts between three different forms and includes a multilayer base. The forms include: 1) a mat or work surface that has a raised lip or edge structure that contains items on the mat or work surface; 2) a small volume bag or flexible container for holding the items inside, where the lip is gathered or compacted, e.g., by a drawstring, to form an annulus from the lip; and 3) a larger-volume, cylindrical-shaped bag, which may be used as a shopping bag. The cylindrical-shaped bag may be stored between the layers of the base when the device is in the mat configuration or the drawstring bag configuration, and the lip may be stored between the layers of the base when the device is in the cylindrical-shaped bag configuration.

  • Patent number: 11040813
Abstract: A hermetically sealed flat container for containing loose materials may include: first and second flexible sheet elements, having polygonal shape, which are coupled together by welds formed along a perimeter of their polygonal shape, to define a volume for containing the materials. The perimeter may define a plurality of edges, one edge forming a bearing edge for the container to rest upon a base. The bearing edge may progressively reduce its transverse dimensions toward one end such that, when the bearing edge rests on the base, a weight-force component of the materials applied to the bearing edge causes a reaction that causes the bearing edge to retract into the volume and imparts vertical stability to the container. The container further comprises a strip of stiffening material attached to the first and second flexible sheet elements, the strip spaced from the bearing edge except for end portions of the strip.

  • Patent number: 10928009
Abstract: This invention relates to a boss assembly that seals a pressure vessel and more particularly to sealing a pressure vessel having a composite outer shell for use with a source of compressed gas having a boss and boss cover in sealing engagement. The composite outer shell is wound about the boss and locked into at least one notch and/or a reverse draft cut. The boss cover is removably fastened to the boss utilizing at least one fastener. The principle use is for storage and usage of compressed gas in mobile applications that typically benefit from light weight pressure vessels however other applications will benefit from this invention. For example, applications that routinely fill and/or un-fill containers made of woven, composite, and etc. materials will benefit from this invention.

  • Patent number: 9873552
Abstract: A fabric bulk bag and a method for constructing the same, the bag including a continuous sidewall, a top portion, and a bottom, all defining a bulk storage space therein; the bottom further comprising eight sides which define an octagonal shape having an enlarged footprint so that the bag wall is sewn to the bottom in less time than a round shaped bag, yet when filled stands more upright with less tendency to lean than the current square shaped bags thereby providing a safer more dependable stacking bulk bag. In the method of producing the fabric bulk bag, the bag is constructed in less time than the prior art round bottom bags, uses less wall fabric than prior art square bottomed bags and when constructed and filled, supports itself more stable on a floor or pallet because it provides substantially more base for the product to rest on. In other embodiments, the bag would be multi-sided with greater than four sides.

Abstract: An integrated circuit containing metal replacement gates may be formed by forming a CMP stop layer over sacrificial gates, and forming a dielectric fill layer over the CMP stop layer. Dielectric material from the dielectric fill layer is removed from over the sacrificial gates using a CMP process which exposes the CMP stop layer over the sacrificial gates but does not expose the sacrificial gates. The CMP stop layer is removed from over the sacrificial gates using a plasma etch process. In one version, the plasma etch process may be selective to the CMP stop layer. Abstract: A plastic bag includes a front wall and a rear wall that are joined together to define a containment portion. To facilitate pouring a pourable substance from the containment portion, the plastic bag includes a pour spout. The pour spout includes an aperture that is defined in a lip. The lip can be formed into a channel such that the pourable substance is directed through the aperture. The plastic bag also includes a series of ribs that are formed in the region where the bag is folded to define a bottom end. The ribs reinforce the bottom end without compromising the flexibility of the bottom end.

  • Patent number: 8272782
Abstract: A plastic bag includes a plastic bag body with 4-layer gussets on two sides and 2-layer film in the middle. The plastic bag body is provided with a curved hot-seal line near a bottom edge of the bag body. The curved hot seal line turns upward on two sides and is recessed in the middle. Since plastic bags with the structure referred to herein eliminate a stress concentration at a bottom hot-seal location, such plastic bags have increased load-bearing capacity.

  • Patent number: 8251971
Abstract: A self standing bag having two side wall sheets and a bottom sheet. To flatten the bag, the bottom sheet is sandwiched between the two side wall sheets and symmetrically folded along a line parallel to its bottom edge, separating the bag into a four-layer part and a two-layer part. In the two-layer part, the bag includes first sloped sealing lines extending between a first two points on the top edges of the side wall sheets and spaced from the vertical side wall edges by a first distance, to a second two points spaced from the vertical edges of the side wall sheets by a second distance less than the first distance. The four-layer part includes second sloped sealing lines extending between the second two points and a third two points on the bottom edges of the side wall sheets.

Abstract: The Adaptable Gift Bag is a bag made of relatively opaque, stretchy material, not paper or netting, so that it can fit over various sizes and shapes of gift items and present a smooth, attractive appearance. The Adaptable Gift Bag is typically made of a single sheet of material folded over and sewn along one or two sides so that it has one open end, but in alternate embodiments it could have two open ends. The open end can be closed around the gift by gathering and tying with traditional ribbon or cord, by attaching a drawstring, or alternatively can be twisted and stretched back over the gift for a unique finished appearance. The Adaptable Gift Bag may be lined (e.g., with a different material), may include a zipper for easier removal from the gift item, and/or may include strategically placed elastic bands in its interior for a better fit (esp. at the corners). Using a shimmery, sparkly, or iridescent material provides a festive appearance for the finished gift.
