Abstract: Triggering slow-motion video capture based on object tracking includes receiving user input defining a trigger area on the viewfinder of a digital camera and tracking the movement of an actor in the field of view of the camera. A determination is made that the actor's movement has positioned the actor within the boundaries of the defined trigger area. Slow-motion video capture is initiated based on the determination. Feature detection methods may be used to identify feature points, where some of the feature points correspond to the actor. Additionally, feature point tracking methods may be used to track the movement of the feature points corresponding to the actor. Statistical methods may be used to remove outlier feature points. The trigger area may be tracked and its position updated in order to anchor the trigger window to stationary objects in the field of view of the digital camera.

The playback bar is part of a graphical user interface (GUI) for a TV or other display device, and includes a current playback time (CTI) and a plurality of scene change markers. The stickiness of the playback bar is based on (1) a speed of the CTI in the playback bar, while a movie or TV show (or other content) is being played in the display device, and (2) a distance of the CTI to a closest scene change marker in the playback bar, at a time a pause or stop command is received. The method operates by receiving a first command to play, fast forward, rewind, seek, or scrub through the content being played on the display device. The first command is executed, and then a second command to pause or stop is received. The second command is executed. • Patent number: 9497459
Abstract: Embodiments of the present invention disclose a method and an apparatus for detecting frame types. The method includes: detecting play time of each frame; and if the play time of a current frame is less than the maximum play time of received frames, determining the current frame as a bi-directional predicted frame, B-frame. In the technical solutions provided by the embodiments of the present invention, the frame types are determined according to a coding sequence of various frames and comparison between data amounts of various frames received earlier and later, without decoding a payload. Therefore the impact of a reduction factor is eliminated and the frame types can be detected more accurately.

  • Patent number: 9197677
Abstract: Embodiments disclosed herein relate generally to systems and methods for delivering a scalable media stream from a media server to a media client, wherein thinning is performed at more than one location in the network between the media server and the media client. The system includes at least a session management node located close to the media server, and a client management node located close to the media client. The session management node receives the scalable media stream from the media sever and performs steady state thinning on the scalable media stream to produce a session media stream. The client management node receives a client input media stream, which is at least a portion of the scalable media stream, and performs dynamic thinning on the client input media stream to produce a client output media stream that is streamed to the media client.
