Abstract: A scale capable of maintaining measurement accuracy even if the pattern of the scale pattern is scratched is provided. The scale 2 comprises a scale pattern 4 having a plurality of unit patterns provided at a predetermined pitch along the measurement direction on a surface thereof. At least one of the plurality of unit patterns comprises a plurality of loop portions 8 formed with conductors in a loop shape. The plurality of loop portions 8 included in the unit pattern are arranged so as to be spaced from each other such that the centers of gravity of the loop portions 8 are at the same position in the measurement direction on the surface of the scale 2. Thereby, the plurality of loop portions 8 included in the unit pattern can prevent deviation of the center of gravity of the magnetic flux distribution in the measurement direction, even if any of the plurality of the loop portions 8 is scratched. Therefore, the scale 2 can maintain the measurement accuracy.

  • Patent number: 7392330
Abstract: Memory access bandwidth within a digital camera is allocated among several requestors by assigning each requester a “tokens per snapshot” (TPS) value. Each requestor has a DMA engine and a DMA entry queue. If the requester wishes to access the memory, then a DMA entry is pushed onto the DMA entry queue of the requester. An arbiter uses the TPS values to select DMA entries off the various queues for incorporation into a “snapshot”. The arbiter then selects DMA entries from the snapshot in an order for servicing such that memory access overhead in accessing the memory is reduced. Only after all DMA entries of the snapshot have been serviced is another snapshot of entries selected. Maximum latency in servicing a queue is controlled by assigning each queue a time out value (TOV). If a queue times out, then that queue is moved up in the order of servicing.

Abstract: Disclosed is a select dial of a camera which includes a rotatable member and a click-stop mechanism for making the rotatable member stop with a click at any one of a plurality of click-stop positions of the rotatable member when the rotatable member is rotated. The click-stop mechanism includes: a positioning member having a plurality of holes which determine the plurality of click-stop positions; and a plurality of balls each being pressed against the positioning member to be engageable with any one of the plurality of holes. The plurality of holes and the plurality of balls are arranged so that one of the plurality of balls is disengaged from any of the plurality of holes when another ball of the plurality of balls is engaged with any one of the plurality of holes.

  • Patent number: 5999661
Abstract: An image processing system and method for processing a source digital image with a first energy sensitivity parameter value and including first pixels of first pixel values into a target digital image with a selected second energy sensitivity parameter value and including second pixels of second pixel values, for enabling a photographer to adjust resolution and sensitivity of a digital image to correspond to the light sensitivity of a specific photographic film. Thus, the photographer can use a light meter to indicate pairs of exposure time and diaphragm settings for the electronic camera that will ensure a correct exposure of the digital image when the light meter is set to indicate correct pairs of exposure time and diaphragm settings for a camera.

  • Patent number: 5946508
Abstract: A data-projection device for a camera which always projects both a data pattern and its background clearly without the need for a photometer or similar mechanism. This data-projection device includes a data-projection module positioned on the reverse side of a frame of photographic film housed in a camera body and a filter plate positioned between the film and the camera lens. In this filter plate, the light transmittance of central area corresponding to the path of the photographing light entering the data-projection area of the film is set so that the received light reduction rate of the photographing light falls within the range of 40% to 80% in this data-projection area.

  • Patent number: 5903786
Abstract: A multi-function and high function photographic device having optional setting of only those functions desired by the photographer, thereby omitting complicated setting operations, such as the selection of unnecessary function mode settings or function ranges. The photographic device includes an LCD to display plural function operation elements which are operational modes relating to photography or numerical values indicating operation ranges relating to photography. The photographic device further includes a manual operation device to select optional elements from among the function operation elements which are displayed on the LCD. A control device inhibits operation of the optional elements which were selected by the manual operation device. Moreover, control device controls display or non-display of function operation elements on the LCD, to indicate operation or operation inhibition states.

  • Patent number: RE35885
Abstract: A camera capable of operation in continuous photography and one-frame photography modes has an automatically activated flash device the operation of which may be inhibited by the user when desired. In a preferred embodiment, when the camera is in the continuous photography mode and the user has inhibited the flash device, the inhibition of the flash device is maintained upon completion of continuous photography. One-frame photography may be performed while the camera is in the continuous photography mode, and while maintaining inhibition of the flash device, by momentary depression of the shutter release button. If the camera is operated in the one-frame photography mode and the flash device is inhibited, inhibition of the flash device is automatically cancelled after each exposure.
