  • Patent number: 9864317
Abstract: An image forming apparatus includes a housing, a registration roller pair, a first guiding portion, a second guiding portion, a resistor, and a grounding conductive mechanism. The housing is made of metal and has a grounded inner wall. The registration roller pair is located between the paper sheet feeder and the transfer member in the sheet conveyance path, includes a metallic registration roller and a facing roller that is constituted of an elastic material, and rotates in abutting contact with the registration roller, so as to convey the sheet toward the transfer nip portion. The first guiding portion is made of metal. The second guiding portion is made of a conductive resin material. The grounding conductive mechanism electrically conducts the registration roller, the first guiding portion, and the second guiding portion to the inner wall via a resistor.

  • Patent number: 9366999
Abstract: A transferring device includes a conveying belt, a transferring roller, a stretching roller and a guide member. The conveying belt comes into contact with an image carrier carrying a toner image and conveys a sheet via a contact position to the image carrier. The transferring roller takes applying of voltage with a reversed polarity to a charged polarity of the toner forming the toner image and transfers the toner image carried on the image carrier onto the sheet at the contact position. The stretching roller stretches the conveying belt at a downstream side from the contact position in a conveying direction of the conveying belt and at a separation position of the sheet separated from the conveying belt. The guide member is arranged at a position facing to the sheet conveyed from the stretching roller to a fixing device to take applying of the voltage with the reversed polarity.

  • Patent number: 9081346
Abstract: An image forming apparatus includes a control device executing: a holding process of holding developer attached on an image carrier at a holding member; a moving process of moving the developer from the holding member to the image carrier; and a collection process of collecting the developer attached on the image carrier into a collection member. The control device executes the moving process and the collection process after completing printing. The control device sets a first flag when predetermined time period elapses from start of the moving process and unsets the first flag at start of the printing. When the first flag is not set at a startup time, the control device executes the moving process and the collection process before the printing. When the first flag is set, the control device omits the moving process before the printing.

  • Patent number: 8564822
Abstract: Print commands are saved in increments of pages, based on usable storage capacity, at the time of printing processing of a first copy, so that page spacing to save the print commands is as uniform as possible. At the time of printing processing of the second copy, the stored print commands are reused and transferred to a printer, and the print commands not stored are generated again. The transferring and generating of the print commands are performed in parallel.

  • Patent number: 8103192
Abstract: Example embodiments relate to a constant velocity joint having an outer ring including an annular space with an open end, plural outer grooves axially extending in an outer wall of the annular space and being equally spaced from each other in a circumferential direction, and plural inner grooves axially extending in an inner wall of the annular space and facing the respective outer grooves, and a cage configured to hold balls that slide along the inner walls and the outer walls. The outer ring and/or the cage may be made of a synthetic resin. A drive force of one of the cage and the outer ring may be transmitted to the other one of the cage and the outer ring when part of the cage may be inserted in the annular space and the balls held by the cage may be engaged in the inner grooves and the outer grooves.

  • Publication number: 20020160286
Abstract: Method and apparatus are presented for electrophotographic copying of original information. One cycle of the copying method consists of the following. An electrostatic image of the copying information is recorded onto a recording photoreceptor, and the recording photoreceptor is used to form a latent electrostatic image on an intermediate information carrier. The latent electrostatic image is developed on the intermediate information carrier, and the developed image is transferred onto a final information carrier. The intermediate information carrier is a photoreceptor of a kind capable of, when being charged, storing the charge during a period of time required for producing a desired number of copies.

  • Patent number: 6162570
Abstract: In an electrophotographic printing process as well as an electrophotographic printer for printing a substrate, a photo-sensitive layered system is brought to a homogeneous initial state by impressing an electrical field having a first direction. The photoconductive layer is exposed with predetermined image structures according to the image. The entire photoconductive layer is exposed uniformly through the cover layer and/or the electrode layer. Charged toner particles are applied to the cover layer in a development step. The toner image is then transferred to the substrate. If more than one copy is required, the development step and the transfer step are carried out a number of times, the electrical charge image present inside the layered system being retained. The substrate is conveyed at a very high speed by a conveyor device in this operational state.
