The UV light may then be actuated to disinfect the toilet bowl. The outer shell of the toilet is coated with a doped titanium dioxide. The doped titanium dioxide is photocatalytic and antimicrobial in the presence of visible light. The outer shell is antimicrobial when standard room lights are actuated.
