  • Patent number: 6076203
Abstract: A body treatment apparatus has two separate but contiguous tubs to provide selective treatment to the feet and the upper body. A person will sit in one tub, and the person's feet will be in the other tub. The knees will be over a dam separating the two tubs. Each tub has separate fluid inputs and separate drains, so each may receive different fluids, and at different times. The entire tub unit can be rotated between a position in which the person is in a sitting position, and a position in which the person is reclining, with the feet higher than the head. Covers are provided for use when desired, such as during steam treatment.

  • Patent number: 5293653
Abstract: A device for the production of steam for installing on the roof of a new or existing shower standard box, so as to transform a standard shower box into a sauna. The device has a compact box-shaped roof having a fan for forced air circulation and an instantaneous vaporizer supplied directly by the water source by means o a solenoid valve operated intermittently by a timer interlocked by two thermostats. The box-shaped roof is used together with a covering screen for closing the part of the box top which is not covered by the box-shaped roof itself.

  • Patent number: 5142713
Abstract: An adapter is described for selectively converting a conventional shower to a steam sauna. The adapter includes a spray mist nozzle for developing a spray mist. In an alternative preferred form, water spray orifices are provided in addition to the spray mist nozzle and are separately controlled by a plate valve mounted to the handle with provisions for selective manual operation. The handle and attached spray nozzle are connected to the shower water outlet to selectively deliver water from the shower water outlet under pressure to the spray nozzle. A mount is provided for operably securing the spray nozzle to one of the shower stall walls; or more particularly, to a deflection plate which in turn is mountable to the one shower stall wall. The deflection plate is oriented angularly in relation to the spray nozzle to receive and deflect spray therefrom.

  • Patent number: 4370543
Abstract: A shower-sauna apparatus includes an electrically insulative container for accomodating a volume of water to be heated. A vertical central tube extends through the container and has a threaded upper end adapted to be connected to a source of water and a threaded lower end through which steam or hot water is discharged into a sauna-shower area defined by a flexible curtain suspended from a flat dish-shaped member secured to the threaded lower end of the central tube and defining the top wall of the sauna-shower area. A plurality of spaced, tubular electrode plates are disposed in the container and are adapted to be connected to an electric power source for passage of electric current through the water between the plates to generate Joule heat for automatically and instantaneously heating the volume of water to enable generation of either steam or hot water. The central tube is divided by a stopper into an upper water inlet portion and a lower steam or hot water outlet portion.
