Abstract: Various methods and systems are provided for a portable ultrasound imaging system. In one example, a portable ultrasound imaging system is disclosed, comprising a support stand with a sliding portion vertically slidable in relation to a stationary portion; a cradle configured to support an ultrasound imaging device and coupled to the sliding portion of the support stand; a tray, positioned below the cradle, coupled to the sliding portion of the support stand; and a case at least partially enclosing an electric power converter including an electric power cable, electrically coupled to the ultrasound imaging device, and positioned at a rear side of the support stand and coupled to the sliding portion of the support stand such that the sliding portion and the case move in unison during sliding movement of the sliding portion.

Abstract: A sign for displaying advertising includes a freestanding frame comprising a first side having a first planar surface, a first plate secured to the first side of the freestanding frame and over the first planar surface, and a first magnetic panel comprising a flexible material removably secured to the first plate using magnetic forces and having similar dimensions and a shape to the first planar front surface of the first side. In addition, the freestanding frame comprises a lower portion configured to support the sign in an upright orientation relative to a ground surface. A first protruding lip extends about a periphery of the first planar surface of the first side and around the first magnetic panel. The freestanding frame also includes a second side having a second planar surface, and the second side is hingedly secured along a top edge to the first side forming an A-frame sign.

Abstract: A fuel electrode incorporates a first and second corrugated portion that are attached to each other at offset angles respect to their corrugation axis and therefore reinforce each other. A first corrugated portion may extend orthogonally with respect to a second corrugated portion. The first and second corrugated portions may be formed from metal wire and may therefore have a very high volumetric void fraction and a high surface area to volume ratio (sa/vol). In addition, the strands of the wire may be selected to enable high conductivity to the current collectors while maximizing the sa/vol. In addition, the shape of the corrugation, including the period distance, amplitude and geometry may be selected with respect to the stiffness requirements and electrochemical cell application factors. The first and second corrugated portions may be calendared or crushed to reduce thickness of the fuel electrode.

Abstract: A light-emitting device can be folded in such a manner that a flexible light-emitting panel is supported by a plurality of housings which are provided spaced from each other and the light-emitting panel is bent so that surfaces of adjacent housings are in contact with each other. Furthermore, in the light-emitting device, in which part or the whole of the housings have magnetism, the two adjacent housings can be fixed to each other by a magnetic force when the light-emitting device is used in a folded state.

Abstract: A method and apparatus for browsing a map displayed on a device including a touch screen display. The method includes displaying the map on a full screen of the touch screen display; receiving a user input for setting a variation axis on the map; setting the variation axis according to the user input; dividing the full screen into a first area and a second area, using the variation axis as a boundary; receiving a first map shift command in the first area; and shifting a displayed portion of the map in the first area and maintaining a displayed portion of the map in the second area, in response to the first map shift command in the first area.

Abstract: A page-turning device turning a page of a book includes a sticking part, an arm part and a first drive unit. The sticking part sticks to the page of the book being opened. The arm part is provided with the sticking part on a top end and swings such that the sticking part sticks to the page at a departure position of the page and separates from the page at a destination position of the page while the sticking part goes to and fro between the departure position and the destination position over the page of the book. The first drive unit swings the arm part around a drive shaft of the drive unit. An effective surface of the sticking part obliquely comes into contact with the page at the departure position at an initial stage of the contact.

Abstract: A page-turning device turning a page of a book includes a turning unit and a blower. The turning unit holds the page at a departure position of the page of the book being opened and releases the holding of the page at a destination position of the page. The blower sends air above the page at the departure position to blow against the page at the destination position.

Abstract: A method and apparatus for use in a wagering environment are disclosed. An exemplary embodiment comprises a wagering terminal including a processor, a memory, a primary display, and a secondary display. The primary display is configured for displaying visual messages. These visual messages are displayed as part of a graphical user interface and include at least one wagering transaction message. The secondary display is configured for displaying additional visual messages associated with the visual messages of the primary display. These additional visual messages are displayed as part of an additional graphical user interface. The wagering terminal may further include a proximity detector configured for detecting the presence of a gaming patron, a user identification unit configured for sampling a unique physical attribute of a user, and an image capture unit configured for capturing at least one image in a vicinity of the wagering terminal.

The notifier may include a plurality of pre-printed (or user defined) cards that may rotate about one or more card holders. The card holders may be suspended from a base by a cross-member supported by legs. The notifier may be designed with an attachment mechanism to affix the notifier to a piece of office equipment, such as a top portion of a computer monitor.

Abstract: The present invention provides a page for binding in an album. The page includes a blank, printer paper sheet and a hinge strip mounted along an edge of the printer paper sheet, the hinge strip including a flexible line for allowing the hinge strip to bend along the flexible line and a portion for binding to an album. The paper sheet and the hinge strip are adapted to go through a printer together to provide a ready-to-bind printed page.

Abstract: A method for manufacturing a pop-up article from one or more continuous webs of material using an inline printing press. The article comprises a curved or generally semi-cylindrical pop-up device enclosed within a base piece, such that when the base piece is in a closed position, the pop-up device lies flat therein, but when the base piece is moved to an open position, the pop-up device is forced outwardly from the base piece to form a curved or generally semi-cylindrical shape. The method comprises processing a first web or ribbon to define a base piece having a front and back cover, processing a second web or ribbon to define a pop-up device, separating the pop-up device from the second web or ribbon, adhering a tab of the pop-up device to the front cover, adhering a front flap of the pop-up device to the rear cover, and separating the article from the first web or ribbon.

Abstract: A safety unit for use on vehicles such as school buses. In one embodiment, a housing is provided for the drive motor and related elements for moving a stop sign on the side of the bus between its retracted and extended positions. The housing has a removable cover to provide access to the drive motor and related elements, and the stop sign is mounted on a driveshaft that extends through a single opening in the bottom wall of the housing. In a second embodiment the safety unit is integrated with an access panel on the school bus.

Abstract: A folding photo case includes a pair of exterior case members coupled to each other by a first hinge and a pair of interior frame members coupled to respective exterior case members by respective second and third hinges. The first, second and third hinges are preferably torsion bar hinges with the first hinge biasing the exterior case members to an open position and the second and third springs biasing the interior frame members toward interior surfaces of the exterior case members. One or both of the exterior case members are preferably provided with a latch structure which allows the folding case to be latched in a closed position. The dimensions of the folding case are preferably such that the case can be carried in a pocket or purse when it is folded into the closed position.

Abstract: Album pages for storing cards securely in place without slipping are disclosed. The album pages comprise a pocket located on a backing sheet. In a further embodiment, the pages comprise a sleeve located on the opposite side from the pocket. When a card mounted within the inventive album pages, the cards are securely retained within the pages and do not slide. The cards can be any type of generally flat items, such as photographs, greeting cards, invitations, or postcards. The invention also comprises an album page containing the inventive pages.

Abstract: A combination advertising and warning sign for mounting in a retail store to display promotional materials and warn of spills and other hazardous conditions includes a housing and a movable warning arm. The housing has a front cover removably hinged to a horizontal edge of a base member. The housing can take a closed position in which the cover and base form a closed cavity concealing the warning arm. When the housing is closed, a display region for mounting the promotional material is visible at a front exterior of the cover. The housing can be opened by pivoting the cover about the hinges. When the housing is open, warning indicia are revealed and the warning arm can be pivoted horizontally to an extended position substantially perpendicular to the housing. A switch-activated audio alarm disposed within the housing cavity can also be operated.

The extent is a mounting region for positioning pages within a photo album. The mounting region has a central vertical fold line and spaced circular apertures on opposite sides of the fold line at the center. Also provided is a piece of cardboard adjacent to the fold line. Glue couples the cardboard to the mounting region over the apertures. Short projections are provided above and below the mounting region to aid in the mounting of the pages into a photo album. Provide last are at least two pages. One rectangular mounting zone is provided per page. Each mounting zone includes mounting components adjacent to each mounting zone. Each mounting zone is adapted to removably receive and support a photo.

Each ring includes a space or gap between opposing end segments selectively opened and closed by a closure element such as a movable sleeve or the like. Each photo holder includes openings to receive the rings so as to be slideably carried thereon. Knobs mounted on opposite ends of the turning shaft permit manual rotation of the shaft about a horizontal axis while the photo holders are loosely held on the rings.

Abstract: A two-part binding system is disclosed, comprising an elongated sheet holder and a twin-barrel link made up of adjacent tubular portions. The sheet holder comprises an elongated planar sheet-holding section which is expandable to accommodate documents of different thicknesses. One side of the sheet-holding section terminates in a plurality of tubular barrels arranged in a spaced-apart relationship. A plurality of the links are placed in the spaces between the barrels of the sheet holders and are aligned so that a pin can pass through the barrels of both the sheet holders and the links. The links are staggered relative to each other to facilitate joining of several sheet holders in a compact, expandable book-like unit.

Abstract: This invention discloses a loose-leaf binder such as a loose-leaf photo album or a loose-leaf file binder, which is disposed a plurality of hinge members having a pillar at one end and an axially concave knuckle at the other end. A slit is formed on the outer wall of the concave knuckle so that a pillar may be inserted into the concave knuckle therefrom. When the assembly is completed, a single page of the photo album or file is created. With the addition of many single pages, a complete photo album or file is formed. The hinge members of the pages of this loose-leaf binder may be easily attached and detached so as to increase or decrease the number of pages of the binder as desired.

Abstract: An improved method for making promotional pieces wherein a high speed web-press operation results in mass-production of attractive pieces which include three or more interconnected pop-up panels which assume a three-dimensional shape when the outer folder is opened. The preferred method utilizes a plurality of longitudinal slitting and folding steps, together with the application of glue lines in strategic locations, and culminates in the transverse cutting of the continuous moving web to separate each blank in series from the next. A continuous web is preferably longitudinally slit into at least three continuous ribbons which are then manipulated and associated with one another to create an endless series of interconnected pop-up assemblies atop a ribbon consisting of two side-by-side basepieces. In an alternative method, only two ribbons are employed, and pieces having a false backbone are created.
