Abstract: A system for displaying a desired reflective sheeting striping pattern on a traffic management device includes providing a portable panel having reflecting sheeting affixed to a face thereof, orienting the portable panel as desired, and affixing the panel to the device using fastener holes disposed about a perimeter of the panel. The displayed striping pattern may be easily changed by removing the panel from the device, turning the panel over to display an opposing side, on which is displayed a different striping pattern, and reattaching the panel to the traffic management device so that the opposing side of the panel is displayed, or by removing the panel from the traffic management device, rotating the panel by 90 degrees, 180 degrees, or 270 degrees, and then reattaching the panel to the traffic management device so that the same particular striping pattern is oriented in a different direction.

Abstract: A compliance material organizer and display device that is operable to receive and retain a plurality of compliance posters being different in size and provide display thereof. The compliance material organizer includes a wall mount that is configured to be secured to a wall. The wall mount has secured thereto a ring mount wherein the ring mount is configured to be expandable in length so as to be extended to a length of at least three feet. A plurality of rings are secured to the ring mount and are movable so as to receive and suspend therefrom numerous compliance posters. The compliance material organizer and display is configured to receive, retain and display a plurality of compliance posters wherein the posters are arranged in a stacked pattern against the wall with the largest compliance poster being proximate the wall.

Abstract: A towable system includes a U-shaped chassis and a removable load module. The U-shaped chassis includes a first side member and an opposed side member that define a chassis separation distance. The opposed side members include respective mounting surfaces. A frame of the removable load module fits within the chassis separation distance and has complimentary surfaces to the respective mounting surfaces and support members. The support members and the frame are arranged to fit within an area defined by the U-shaped chassis.

Abstract: A vehicle mounted display system generating advertising and/or other displayed messages which are clearly viewable from at least a rear exterior vicinity of the vehicle. An electronically powered display may comprise a digital display screen, such as an LCD, or a mechanically driven but electronically powered scrolling assembly. A mounting assembly selectively disposes the display assembly between operative and stored positions and a viewing assembly including at least one camera disposed to observe exterior areas which are obstructed by the operatively positioned display assembly. The viewing assembly also comprises a camera display disposed to be clearly viewable by the vehicle operator enables the operator to the view the obstructed areas.

Abstract: In combination with a highway tractor of the type having an operator's cab mounted on a frame, a vertical pivotal coupling means coupled to the frame behind the cab adapted to be coupled to a trailer, and an aerodynamic structure at the top of the cab which includes a plurality of LED bulbs and a heat generating element in the front of the aerodynamic structure. A front panel of glass or plastic material having information such as a logo containing letters and/or images located on its first surface, second surface or embedded surface covers the LED bulbs with a weatherproof seal. Light from the LED bulbs provides illumination for the information on the front panel to be viewed from the front of the highway tractor and heat from the heat generating element helps to keep the front panel having information such as a logo free of snow and/or ice.

Abstract: A glowing frame for a hazardous material placard is an apparatus used to illuminate the hazardous material placard during the night or dangerous weather conditions. The apparatus is attached to a vehicle carrying hazardous material and includes a frame, a plurality of light emitting diode (LED) strips, a drain hole, a pair of wires, and a disconnection mechanism. The hazardous material placard and the LED strips are situated in between a front portion and a back portion of the frame. The drain hole allows moisture to be released from within the frame. The pair of wires is used to complete a circuit between the LED strips and the vehicle's side-marker or tail light system. The disconnection mechanism activates the LED strips and locks the placard in place. In addition, the disconnection mechanism deactivates the LED strips and releases the placard from the frame.

Abstract: A traffic control board assembly as a self-contained unit is provided for mounting in an emergency response vehicle in a manner that accommodates deployment of a traffic control board above the top surface of the emergency response vehicle in any desired angular orientation about a vertical axis for visibility from any direction in relation to the emergency response vehicle. When docked, the top cover on the traffic board provides a weatherproof cover. Manual input and programmed control of a liftable rotation assembly on which the traffic board is mounted facilitate convenient and simple operation. A motion signal indicative of the emergency response vehicle moving can prevent deployment of the traffic control board and/or initiate returning it to a docked or stowed position.

Abstract: An advertising system and method of use includes a rail car and an advertising billboard mounted thereon. Preferably, the billboard is adjustable so that advertising thereon can be positioned to face desired viewers, such as people traveling on roadways adjacent a railroad track. The billboard may rotate and/or be raised and lowered by a lift, which may include a telescoping post. An onboard electric power source is typically provided to power lights and other electric components. Outriggers may be used to help stabilize the rail car when parked especially for windy conditions. A security fence may be mounted on the rail car to protect various components thereon. The billboard may include one section which can be raised relative to another section for display purposes and lowered to provide a lower height during transport. The rail car may carry an additional billboard.

Abstract: A warning plate assembly for indicating the excess width of a tractor, in particular an agricultural tractor. The assembly comprises a holder having a fixing part (1) attached to the vehicle and a deployable arm (3) carrying the warning plate (9). The deployable arm (3) is swivellable about a vertical swivel axis (2a) of the fixing part between a lockable deployed position, in which the deployable arm and the warning plate are disposed transversely to the longitudinal direction of the vehicle, and a lockable retracted position in which the deployable arm is disposed substantially in the longitudinal direction of the vehicle. The length of the deployable arm (3) is adjustable (6,7) to cater for different widths of vehicle. The warning plate may be in two halves (10,11) hinged about a vertical axis so that the halves can be folded one over the over for storage.

Abstract: Apparatus for alerting and/or reminding a truck driver of type of material being transported includes a base member having a plurality of first portions of a warning sign disposed thereon. Printed material is disposed on both sides of all but one side of one of such plurality of first portions of such sign. Another plurality of second portions of the sign is disposed on such base member. An edge of the plurality of such portions of the sign is aligned with an edge of such plurality of second portions of the sign. Printed material is disposed on both sides of all but one side of one of the plurality of such second portion of the sign. A mechanism engages engageable the base member, the plurality of first and second portions of the sign to enable flipping respective ones of the first and second plurality of such signs to display printed material.

Abstract: An advertising frame for use with a vehicle so as to render the advertising frame mobile is provided. The advertising frame includes a vehicle engagement that is configured for engaging a vehicle. A signage member is included and is configured for carrying advertising signage. The signage member is pivotable with respect to the vehicle engagement member so as to be configured for providing access to the rear of a vehicle. A tailgate, hatch, trunk, spare tire or other component or portion of the rear of the vehicle may be accessed by pivoting the signage member out of the way.

Abstract: This system comprises a small advertising assembly that can be easily mounted onto the bed of a Low-Speed Electric Vehicle. The assembly includes an advertising display and a frame. The system allows for the advertising display to be attached in multiple positions such as: upright for viewing and stowed flat for transport. The advertising display has an internal light source and removable translucent advertising panels. This Low Speed Electric Vehicle Mobile Advertising System provides an advertising system that is mobile for both on- and off-road conditions, generates little or no noise or air pollution, and operates at pedestrian-friendly speeds to promote maximum exposure of the message being advertised.

Abstract: A display sign has cards that fold on a hinge to display different numerals. An upper latch retains cards in an upper position overlying an upper edge of the cards. The latch has a retaining member that rotates between an open position and a locked position. A lock assembly for the retaining member has a threaded member that is rotatable between a locked position, which prevents movement of the retaining member, to an unlocked position, which allows the retaining member to rotate.

Abstract: A placard holder apparatus and method is provided. The apparatus includes a bracket mounted to a vehicle that is operative to transport a hazardous material. The bracket is operative to slidingly receive and engage with a placard holder. A placard clip may be mounted to the vehicle to prevent the placard holder from exiting the bracket. The placard holder includes a tray with a cavity of sufficient depth to hold a stack of adhesively mounted placards. For each shipment of a hazardous material in the vehicle, a placard with indicia representative of a hazard classification corresponding to the hazardous material may be adhesively mounted in the cavity of the tray. Once the cavity is filled with placards, the placard holder may be removed and replaced with an empty or less full placard holder. The full placard holder may be discarded or recycled to remove the adhesively mounted placards therein.

The convertible message sign includes a mounting plate for mounting on the vehicle and having a front surface, a back surface, a top edge, a bottom edge, a first side edge and a second side edge. The front surface of the mounting plate has two sections. A plurality of placards are pivotally mounted on the mounting plate such that each of the placards pivots about a substantially common axis and is alternately positionable in front of one of the sections of the front surface. Each of the placards has a status indicia marked thereon. Each of the placards has a front side and a back side, and at least one of the front and back sides of each of the placards has one of the status indicia marked thereon. Each of the status indicia includes a single character.

Abstract: An electronic warning system made up of illuminated and colored placards for trailers carrying hazardous materials. The colored placards are changed as desired to signal different hazardous loads by a computerized control unit located in the cab. The placards are based on display panels of either light emitting diodes or liquid crystal. A remote mobile control unit can also be employed by itself or in conjunction with the cab's control unit to operate at least four colored placards on each side of a trailer to collectively identify the hazardous cargo being transported in compliance with federal regulations.

Abstract: The invention comprises a vehicular wide turn warning device having a placard with a warning printed thereon. The placard also has mounted thereon a strobe lamp and a plurality of light-emitting mechanisms, the light-emitting mechanisms being arranged to form an arrow having a point and a tail. The invention also comprises a control circuit for operating the light-emitting mechanisms and strobe lamp mounted upon the placard. The control circuit is arranged such that the light-emitting mechanisms forming the arrow are sequentially and cyclically illuminated beginning with the light-emitting mechanisms forming the tail of the arrow and preceding to the light-emitting mechanisms forming the head of the arrow. The strobe lamp is cyclically illuminated in conjunction with the light-emitting mechanisms forming the arrow. A manually operable switching means located adjacent a driver of a vehicle activates a control circuit for the vehicular wide turn warning device.

Abstract: The disclosure is directed to a removably attachable sign for use on a vehicle tailgate. The sign is generally rectangular and made of a flexible, durable material. The sign can contain apertures or cutaway areas for accommodating various hinges and handles commonly found on vehicle tailgates. The tailgate sign is easily secured to a tailgate by means of straps, clips, belts, snaps, hooks, bars, sheaths, or the like.

Abstract: Sheet material (20,20') including a polyvinyl fluoride film (21), an application tape (22) removably adhered to one surface (32) of the film (21) and a carrier tape (23) removably adhered to the application tape (22). The polyvinyl fluoride film (21) has an exposed surface (33) on which a sign (4) is printed in reverse image. Adhesive (42) is applied over the printed surface (33) with a transfer tape (40). When printed film (21) is applied to a selected surface, the film (21) is adhered to the selected surface by adhesive (42) after separation of the carrier tape (23) and application tape (22) so that the printed sign (4) is on the innermost surface (33) of the film (21) and protected by the thickness of the polyvinyl fluoride film (21).

Abstract: A courtesy light is provided for tractor-trailer to flash a THANK YOU after passing a motor who indicates it is safe to return to the right hand lane of the road. The courtesy light is mounted on the bumper of the truck between the vertical members of the bumper and above the horizontal member of the bumper where it is easily seen by automobile drivers. The courtesy light is operated by a switch in the cab of the tractor-trailer and may flash a single time of predetermined duration or flash intermittently with a single operation of the switch.

Abstract: A light assembly for generating a narrow light beam of relatively uniform intensity for use in association with a light sensor for sensing variations in light intensity; the assembly includes a plurality of standard size aperture light bulbs positioned in a staggered arrangement in a housing with light extender members comprising alternating sheets of light transmissive material joined to form a common surface to generate the light beam.

Abstract: A placard holder having a rigid base sheet utilizes a notched, rigid transparent panel and frame members for spacing the panel from the base sheet. The frame members, base sheet and transparent panel collectively provide a receptacle for holding a plurality of placards, and a notch defined in the panel facilitates the removal of placards from the holder or the interchanging of placards within the holder. A removable closure is hingedly connected to the transparent panel to provide a cover for the placard receptacle and includes a notch-receiving portion adapted to interfit with and substantially close the panel notch.

Abstract: An auxiliary signalling and warning device for utilization on vehicles which make wide turns comprising a main body section that is at least partially reflectorized and a light lens member that is adapted to be secured to the main body section so as to form an enclosure. The light lens member is provided with a written message indicating that the vehicle negotiates wide turns. Light bulb retaining means is provided in the main body section for receiving and retaining light bulbs. Electrical connections from the light bulbs are adapted to interact with the existing vehicle directional turn signal lights. The enclosure is adapted for mounting to the rear of the vehicle so as to provide a highly visible flashing warning to following traffic.

Abstract: An advertising display (22) for the back of a pick-up truck (28) and the like includes a frame (24) removably secured to the load bed of a pick-up truck (28) and an advertising medium (30) bearing a plurality of advertising messages mounted in a downwardly-sloping fashion on the frame (24), making the advertising (30) visible from the rear of the truck (28). A transparent sheet (62) mounted over the rearwardly-sloping frame (24) provides a protective cover for the advertising medium (30). In one embodiment, the advertising medium (30) includes a roll (31) of advertising material (30) which is mounted to a spool bar (75) on the frame (24). The advertising medium (30) is sequentially displayed along the rearwardly-sloping wall of frame (24) by a manually operated or motor-driven roller bar (79). A guide bar (77) is provided to guide the advertising medium (30) from the spool bar (25) to the roller bar (79).

Abstract: To comply with certain Federal Government regulations pertaining to the mounting and displaying of hazardous materials placards on trucks, a placard holder has been provided which includes marginal flanges which lie in registration with the border area of the placard, the flanges having the same color as the placard border and thereby appearing to one viewing the placard as a part of the border which must be visible to a viewer under the terms of said regulations. The flanges serve the dual purpose of positioning the placard in the holder.
