By Using "no-print" Device Patents (Class 400/8)
  • Patent number: 8432566
Abstract: A printer driver conserves recording paper by removing blank space formed at the top and bottom of each page when printing. The printer driver acquires the coordinates of the top and bottom of the part of the print image, and calculates the page length required to print the middle area between the top and bottom blank space areas based on these coordinates. The print data for printing this middle area is then extracted and printed. When printing is completed, the recording paper is conveyed only the difference between the page length and the transportation distance of the recording paper to set the print head to a position separated only the page length from the printing start position of the area print data, that is, to a position touching the middle area. As a result, blank space between the middle areas of consecutively printed pages is eliminated.

  • Patent number: 4500216
Abstract: An electronic typewriter comprises a character-bearing disk movable along the platen and a selector to space selected characters according to a plurality of constant spaces or proportional spaces. The electronic unit provides a line buffer on which the entered characters of a line are sequentially stored and a series of editing functions to have the entered characters directly printed in editing form and a permanent, alterable memory wherein are recorded positioning information for the disk and constant phrases to be printed can be recorded and recalled upon request of the operator. Justification of a line is commanded by a selector which allows the printing of entered characters up to a set zone of the printing line while stores, without printing, the remaining characters on the line buffer. Following actuation of a service key causes the delayed printing of stored part of the line aligned to the fixed right margin.

  • Patent number: 4348121
Abstract: A strike and non-strike impact control mechanism for typewriter comprises a drive shaft (4) equipped with at least two cams (8 and 9) corresponding to different strike forces, a tracker (13) of the contour of said cams, the movement of which is transmitted to a printing element (1), means (17 and 18) for displacement of said tracker (13), and means (20, 40 and 41) for receiving command impulses. So as to avoid the transfer of significant amounts of energy in the course of giving command impulses the mechanism comprises a tension spring (39) which acts upon the displacement means (17 and 18) so as to cause them to work in connection with an abutment apparatus (34-38). Said abutment apparatus (34-38) is controlled in various positions by said reception means (20, 40 and 41). A return apparatus (59 and 61) driven by drive shaft (4) returns displacement means (17 and 18) to a position known as normal following each complete rotation of said shaft (4).
