  • Patent number: 8083429
Abstract: A modular locking binder system is disclosed having a channel is coupled to the binder spine. The channel has an open end and a constricted region. A channel block is located at the open end of said channel and is configured to block and unlock the channel opening. The modular locking binder system is configured to removably hold a document module within the channel. The document module includes a module spine having a widened portion configured to operatively engage and be restrained by the constricted region of the channel. By either obstructing or un-obstructing the channel with the channel block, it is possible to removeably secure the document module within the channel when the widened ends of the document module are operatively engaged and restrained by the constricted portions of the channel.

  • Patent number: 6764100
Abstract: A stationery organizer is provided having parallel, C-shaped members that are threaded through the aligned apertures of numerous stationery products. The C-shaped members have adjacent first ends joined by a connecting member, and have second ends that are curved upwardly, rearwardly and inwardly, then joined to define a hook. The C-shaped members are joined by a curvilinear spring member that has a first end spaced apart from the connecting member such that an aperture is formed. The hook is insertable through the aperture only by compressing the curvilinear spring member. Once inserted the hook catches the connecting member as the compression of the curvilinear spring member is lowered, although sufficient compression load remains in the curvilinear spring member to cause the hook to bear upon the connecting member to secure the closure. Only a subsequent compression of the curvilinear spring member will disengage the hook from the connecting member for release.

  • Patent number: 6666609
Abstract: An updatable and lockable flip chart holder that can clip into the rail strip or channel of a shelf or fasten to a display at a retail store. The flip chart holder allows manufacturers or promoters of products that are sold at retail to create consumer, educational, or promotional flip charts that can easily and economically be updated by opening rings. The lockable flip chart has a panel, and attached to the panel is a ring system with each ring having two ring halves and hinged leaves connected to each other and attached to each ring half respectively. A locking mechanism on the ring system presses against the leaves to prevent the ring halves from opening. Locking the rings also provides security so consumers cannot take the pages out of the flip chart holder.

  • Patent number: 6179507
Abstract: A permanently locking ring binder includes a housing, a pair of hinged plates within the housing, each supporting a plurality of ring segments arranged so that, when the plates are in one position, the ends of the ring segments are spaced apart, so that one can insert loose-leaf papers over the segments, and a second position, in which the ends of opposing ring segments meet, forming closed rings for retaining the papers. The binder has an initially inactive lock which can be activated once papers have been placed in the binder, to prevent movement of the rings to their open position. The lock cannot be manually deactivated.

  • Patent number: 5509745
Abstract: A document support stand (2) for removably mounting and locking a document holder (14) on the stand includes a main body (4) which may be formed in the shape of a rectangular solid. The body includes a viewing side (6) having an elongated bracket defining a T-slot (24) mounted on it or formed in its surface. Additionally, the stand includes an apperture (19) formed in its body to cooperate with a lock (90) carried by the document holder. The document holder includes an elongated member configured as a T-shaped rail (52) which is slidably received by the bracket of the stand so that the document holder may be mounted on the stand. The document holder further includes an actuator (41) for releasably retaining documents (42). The lock is capable of locking the mounted holder to the stand and of activating and locking the retaining rings (39) of the mounted holder in a closed position.

  • Patent number: 5249910
Abstract: A horizontal, generally rectangular frame structure constructed from aluminum, or iron, longitudinal and transverse beams mounted on the interior surface of a pick-up truck. The frame structure having one or more pairs of longitudinal boat support members, or channels, mounted on the top surface. The channels having a top cover of a low coefficient of friction plastic material are spaced to accommodate the keel structure of a jet-ski. Auxiliary pairs of channels are removably connected to the rear ends of the truck-mounted channels extending downwardly to the ground surface. An electric powered winch mounted on a vertical support on the forward portion of the frame structure accommodates a cable that is removably attached to the bow of the jet-ski. The jet-ski with its bow placed on the channels and connected to the winch cable is pulled up onto the truck body when the winch motor is energized.

  • Patent number: 5127755
Abstract: A binder with a security lock feature having front and back cover panels connected by a spine, and a page-holding mechanism attached to the spine on the inside of the binder for releasably holding pages in the binder. The page-holding mechanism includes a post assembly having a plurality of posts extending generally transversely of the spine at locations spaced longitudinally of the spine for holding pages in the binder. Each post is made up of a pair of interengageable post elements separable to permit pages to be inserted into and removed from the binder. The post assembly is movable between a first position in which the post elements of each post are interengaged and inseparable, and a second position in which the post elements are separable. A latching member is movable between a latching position for latching the post assembly in the first position and a release position for enabling the post assembly to be moved to the second position.

  • Patent number: 4960356
Abstract: An apparatus for loading, unloading and storing a jet propelled water vehicle comprising a first pair of tubes made of relatively smooth surfaced plastic plumbing pipe or the like, a second pair of tubes of similar construction which telescope within and extend from the first pair of tubes and devices to adjustably support and space the first pair of tubes on a truck bed, mini-van floor, trailer frame, elevated rack or the like. When the first pair of tubes are mounted in a pickup truck bed for example and the second pair of tubes are drawn out as an extension of the first pair of tubes, a jet propelled vehicle can be loaded directly from the water by applying the weight of the vehicle to bend the second pair of tubes and after a short jet burst propelling the vehicle along the tubes with the grooves in the hull of the vehicle engaging the tubes. In another mode the vehicle slides on the tubes onto a storage rack directly from the water or from the bed of a pickup truck or the like.
