  • Patent number: 11181009
Abstract: An assembly for a turbomachine including an annular channel designed to form a flow duct for a flow of gas between two turbine stages of the turbomachine. The channel is bounded by a radially inner annular wall and a radially outer annular wall. The walls are connected by hollow arms that extend radially, a support having a radially outer annular part that is located radially outside the outer annular wall of the annular channel, and a radially inner annular part that is located radially inside the inner annular wall of the annular channel. The outer and inner parts of the support are connected by connecting parts that extend radially and pass through one of the hollow arms of the annular channel. The connecting parts may be connected by a connecting partition having a frangible part that ruptures when the mechanical stresses in the connecting partition are above a threshold.

  • Patent number: 10480814
Abstract: An apparatus and a process for forming an oval shaped duct, as well as a round duct for all required sizes and thicknesses for an AC system, in one continuous operation where two driving rolls advance a flat metal sheet to a multi-positioning bending roll, where the bending roll is moveable to a bending position for different curvatures and a non-bending position. The driving rolls advance the sheet through while the bending roll bends the sheet to form the curved sides, and the bending roll in the non-bending position form the flat sides of the oval shaped duct. A position sensor detects the position of the flat metal sheet in the rolls to control the location along the sheet where the bending roll is moved to either of the bending or non-bending positions while the driving rolls are stopped.

  • Patent number: 9556892
Abstract: One or more ductile metal inserts may be selectively incorporated into articles of limited ductility, including metal castings and molded polymers. The inserts are positioned at joint locations for joining of the article to other articles using self-piercing riveting (SPR). The inserts are of suitable ductility, thickness and strength to receive and retain self-piercing rivets and enable a strong riveted joint between the article and a second article. In an embodiment the articles are magnesium alloy castings formed by any of sand casting, die casting and semi-solid metal casting. The chemical composition of the insert may be informed by the anticipated corrosive environment of the joint and the casting temperature of the magnesium alloy. For magnesium alloy castings which may be exposed to corrosive environments, aluminum alloy inserts are preferred.

Abstract: A connection device for a tire-building drum significantly improves work efficiency for connection and disconnection of a tire-building drum, with requirements for safety, cost, durability, occupied space, etc. sufficiently satisfied. The device connects a center shaft of a tire-building drum to a drive shaft on the building machine body side, where counter lock portions fitting into each other are provided on shaft ends of both shafts that are brought into contact with each other. One end portion of a tubular member is screwed to a head portion of the drive shaft, and cam rollers rotatable about center axes oriented in the radial direction are provided on an inner peripheral surface of the other end portion. At one end portion of the drum center shaft, there is provided a flange that is pressed by the cam rollers to the drive shaft side when the tubular member is displaced by tightening.

Abstract: Vanes are generally hollow with a passage through which service pipes extend. These service pipes must be connected such that they can allow for thermal expansion and contraction but also anti rotation features are needed in order to prevent damage when a supply coupling is connected through a pipe end. This anti-rotation feature is generally provided between a top hat and a pipe end through flanges. In order to allow reduced spacing between the top of the vane and a casing the flanges are arranged to allow at least recessing of a first flange into a passage opening profile whereby those flanges inter-engage with second flanges at a surface interface to prevent rotation.

Abstract: A handlebar grip for a transportation vehicle includes a grip body having a body portion and an annular flange provided on one end of the body portion, a tightening member mounted on the outer surface of the annular flange, a locating ring mounted on the outer surface of the annular flange in such a way that the tightening member is placed in between the locating ring and the annular flange, and a fastener inserted into a through hole of the locating ring. When the fastener is fastened up, one end of the fastener leans against the outer surface of the tightening member such that the annular flange of the grip body is pressed by the tightening member to be radially inwardly deformed and compressed against the periphery of a handlebar of the transportation vehicle. Thus, the handlebar grip is firmly fixed to the handlebar of the transportation vehicle.
