Abstract: The invention relates to a design element having an aperture. To connect the design element to a hollow shaft it is slid onto the hollow shaft which is hydraulically expanded and thereby plastically deformed. The plastic deformation of the hollow shaft causes permanent elastic pretension in a surface layer of the aperture of the design element. The surface layer of the aperture has a thickness of several Angstrom units and is connectable to the hollow shaft in a material-locking manner.
