    Abstract: A hole cutter assembly is operable to cut a plurality of different sized diameter holes in a work piece. The hole cutter assembly includes an arbor configured to connect to a power tool for rotation about an axis, a drill bit coupled to the arbor for rotation with the arbor, a first arm moveable relative to the axis, a first cutting blade coupled to the first arm and moveable with the first arm, a second arm moveable relative to the axis, and a second cutting blade coupled to the second arm and moveable with the second arm. The first and second cutting blades are selectively moveable relative to the axis to adjust a cutting diameter of the hole cutter assembly. The drill bit engages the first and second arms to inhibit movement of the first and second cutting blades relative to the drill bit.

These two partial clamping surfaces (11a, 11b; 26a, 26b) are offset in the axial direction by a certain extent. The two cutter holders (3, 4; 22, 23) have different heights with respect to the cutters (5) in accordance with this extent and in addition can be optionally fastened to and radially adjusted on the first partial clamping surface (11a, 26a) or the second partial clamping surface (11b, 26b). The boring head permits the conventional roughing work and is especially stable while being produced at a low cost.

The frame members form a fixed, rigid, closed force loop design. A movable Y-axis column is bifurcated and a headstock is mounted in the center opening of the column. The headstock is advanced and retracted relative to the workpiece by moving the Y-axis column and the headstock relative to the workpiece. Because the headstock is fixed relative to the Y-axis column, the unsupported portion of the headstock relative to the Y-axis column does not change as the Z-axis position of the headstock changes relative to the workpiece.

    Abstract: There is disclosed a boring tool which exhibits a cutting head with several cutting plates arranged on the periphery of the cutting head. Each of the cutting plates are pressable with a fastening device against a shoulder of the cutting head. The cutting heads are staggered with respect to one another in the direction of the longitudinal axis. The cutting plates (1, 2, 3) are formed in a circular shape and are arranged so that the force exerted during operation of the cutting head by the cutting plates compensate each other. The effective cutting edge sections, projecting in an axial plane, continually blend into one another. The boring tool is particularly suitable as a fine boring tool for the production of precision bores.

    Abstract: An apparatus useful for forming in a curved surface, an enlarged hole surrounded by an upturned flange whose unattached edge lies substantially in a common plane, uses a drill rod, a set of bits, and a mechanism for forming an upturned flange. A second bit, spaced axially along the rod, forms a widened oval hole with tapered sides upon continued axial and rotary movement of the rod relative to the workpiece. A flange forming mechanism is then extended beneath the edge region of the hole and pulled through the hole while rotating, to form the upturned flange. A third bit mounted peripherally with respect to the second bit is used to smooth and level the flange edge and to provide it with a desired shape.

    Abstract: A cutting apparatus for making circular or circular arc-like cuts in a sheet of material such as paper, cloth, leather, plastic, rubber and the like. A substantially planar base is provided to receivably support said sheet and a hinged apertured clamping plate is lowered over the supported sheet to secure it against movement during the cutting operation which takes place through the aperture. An arcuate arm is secured to the base and an elongated portion of the arm positions an internally-threaded vertically-oriented boss above the aperture. An externally-threaded member is operably received within the boss and includes an adjustment disc for turning said member to raise or lower same within said boss. A blade-positioning shaft is received within a vertically-oriented central bore in the member and includes a shoulder to secure the shaft for vertical movement with the member. The lower distal end of the shaft includes a threaded pin for being slideably received within a radius selecting slot of the blade.
