Process Patents (Class 409/131)
  • Patent number: 11383339
Abstract: Methods and devices relating to loose debris chip shielding for dust free tile removal and ordinary tile removal projects. During the tile removal process, a chipping hammer powers a chipping hammer blade that breaks up tiles into pieces. The larger, heavier pieces are simply pushed away, but smaller debris chips break off with enough force to send them flying up in the air and in different directions landing in undesirable locations. The methods and devices herein protect equipment, environments, and individuals from damage caused by loose debris chips during tile removal. A shield with several degrees of freedom moves freely in response to chipping hammer vibrations and blocks loose flying debris chips, deflecting them toward the ground.

  • Patent number: 11273531
Abstract: A smart coolant pump for a robotic or computer-controlled machine. The smart pump uses a servo motor rather than a conventional industrial motor such as an induction motor. The smart pump has inherent torque and speed sensing, and a controller integrated with the computer-controlled machine controller. The motor torque/speed sensing and coolant pressure/flow sensing enable immediate detection of any anomalous conditions such as low coolant level or coolant port blockage. The smart pump can be configured to run at a certain speed and provide a specific coolant pressure and flow rate for each machining operation performed at the station, and to run at a very low speed between machining operations. This speed configurability saves energy and allows the pump and coolant to run at lower temperatures compared to conventional constant-speed coolant pumps.

Temporary center holes are set for each of two or more samples extracted from one forging lot of a plurality of forged rotary bodies produced within a time period after a die misalignment adjustment through before a next die misalignment adjustment. Then, a virtual final shape of each of the samples is simulated on an assumption that machining is performed on the basis of the temporary center holes, and a rotational imbalance amount is calculated. Then, an average value of the rotational imbalance amounts in all of the samples in the same forging lot is calculated, and center-hole positions which allow the average value to become zero are set as center hole machining positions for all of the forged rotary bodies in a corresponding forging lot.
