Patent number: 6648568Abstract: A linear blind broaching machine (10) includes a base (22), a broaching ram assembly (24), a linear tool slide (26) supported on the base by linear antifriction bearings (90) and a support block (92) mounted between the base and the linear tool slide below a broaching ram of the broaching ram assembly to provide support to the linear tool slide during blind broaching. The linear tool slide has an elongated construction including an elongated positioning block (114) against which blind broaches are laterally positioned, and an electric servomotor (108) drives the linear tool slide (26) to provide indexing thereof between broaching movements of the broaching ram. A roller screw drive (54) driven by an electric servomotor (56) drives a broaching ram (44) supported by linear antifriction bearings 46.Type: GrantFiled: January 18, 2001Date of Patent: November 18, 2003Assignee: Utica Enterprises, Inc.Inventor: Robert E. Patent number: 6409442Abstract: A vertical internal push broaching machine comprises a machine column and a workpiece lifting table which is guided for displacement on carriage guideways. Underneath the lifting table, a feeder carriage is disposed vertically displaceably on guideways. These guideways can be separate from the carriage guideways. The lifting table is actuated by means of a single elevating drive which is disposed behind the plane spanned by the carriage guideways.Type: GrantFiled: September 5, 2000Date of Patent: June 25, 2002Assignee: Oswald Forst Maschinenfabrik und Apparatebauanstalt GmbH & Co. KGInventors: Andreas Berktold, Thomas Grigutsch

Patent number: 5415610Abstract: In a frame with a horizontal bed (10) and a vertical upright (12) there is for bracing and stiffening a vertical rigid wall (14) rigidly with the bed (10) and the upright (12) connected. The bed (10), the upright (12) and the wall (14) are cast as a single piece of a polymerizable resin-concrete. The wall (14) provides the frame with a high bend and torsional stiffness at a low weight. The wall (14) additionally serves to receive guides and bearing arrangements for functional elements of the machine tool, which by this means can be disposed spatially one above the other.Type: GrantFiled: September 7, 1993Date of Patent: May 16, 1995Assignee: Bernhard Steinel Werkzeugmaschinenfabrik GmbH U. Co.Inventors: Willi Schutz, Gunther Buggle

Patent number: 5183374Abstract: This invention relates to a machine-tool incorporating a mobile standard and a horizontal broach, wherein the mobile standard is disposed between a fixed lower base and a fixed upper base connected together by a rigid static support located behind the mobile standard, and is guided at each of its ends by parallel guiding means provided on said bases. The mobile standard is, moreover, driven at each of its ends by synchronized drive means.Type: GrantFiled: September 27, 1990Date of Patent: February 2, 1993Assignee: HelisInventor: Henri Line

Patent number: 4266894Abstract: The machine of the invention comprises a base designed to accomodate a blank being machined, and a mandrel with a broach connected to a hydraulic drive imparting movement thereto. The mandrel is provided with a guide located between a broach-supporting end of the mandrel and its other, fixed end. The guide has a passage for the mandrel in the course of inside broaching in the blank. According to one of the embodiments of the invention, the guide is made as a traverse resting against uprights fixed on the base. The traverse has a guide passage for the broach-supporting mandrel and two holes arranged symmetrically with respect to the guide passage and serving as guides for the rods of hydraulic cylinders of the machine hydraulic drive. Each one of the hydraulic cylinders is located partly in the base and partly in the upright. The rods are interconnected above the traverse with a cross-piece supporting the mandrel with broach.Type: GrantFiled: September 11, 1978Date of Patent: May 12, 1981Inventors: Georgy I.
