  • Patent number: 10427260
Abstract: The invention provides a machine tool capable of facilitating a process of switching product ejecting apparatuses. The machine tool comprises a spindle which rotates a workpiece around an axis of the spindle, an actuator which reciprocates a rod arranged parallel to the axis of the spindle, and a coupler switched between a coupling position and a standby position. The coupler connects the rod and an ejecting shaft inserted in the spindle when held in the coupling position. The coupler is not connected to at least the ejecting shaft when held in the standby position. The ejecting shaft along with the coupler is moved in the direction of the axis of the spindle according to reciprocation of the rod when the coupler is held in the coupling position.

  • Patent number: 6554559
Abstract: The invention concerns a device wherein the bars (13) are arranged in bulk in the container (5). The mobile frame (17) of the grasping mechanism (14) moves forward such that the jaw (24) can seize a bar by its middle part and remove it in position (13a) while the trolleys (37) move away from the rail (36) so that the rollers slide on the rods (43), gradually lift the whole bar and bring it to rest on the receptacle (16). The shaft (49) is then driven in rotation so that the racks (47) and the support plate segments (46), which form the receptacle (16), move upwards and the bar (13) drops in the supply channel (8) where it is hooked to the bar clamp of the bar-pusher which drives it axially into the turning center control members.

  • Patent number: 6272955
Abstract: The feeder for short rods of a diameter of between 6 and 120 mm for a machine such as a turning lathe or an automatic lathe comprises a rod loading device having elements for holding a plurality of rods on an inclined plane and loading slides, a device for centering rods along an axis of alignment with respect to the machine tool, and a device for advancing rods in the machine tool. The holding elements are fingers which do not just hold a rod, but offer it, in the course of loading, a support surface in such a way that the rod is simultaneously supported by the finger and the loading slide. The feeder further comprises a device making it possible to adapt the position of the first rod to be loaded to the diameter of this rod when the limit stop for the course of the loading slide is adjusted to the diameter of the rod.

  • Patent number: 5649461
Abstract: The bar feeder comprises an oscillatable magazine in which bars are arran so as to form a substantially vertical plane. A bar pusher is arranged at the top of the magazine; in one angular position of the magazine, the bar pusher pushes the upper bar into the mandrel of the lathe. Another pusher is arranged to the side of the bar pusher and, in the other angular position of the magazine, it pushes the bars towards the machining tools of the lathe. The magazine comprises two walls defined by a series of rods and uprights which can be spaced according to the diameter of the bars.

  • Patent number: 5366334
Abstract: A loading device for sequential loading of bars in machine tools comprises chutes (16) for arrival of a bar against stops (17) for stopping in a withdrawal position. Beyond the stops (17) there is a guide (20,20') for axial sliding of a bar in a direction aligned with the inlet of a machine tool (14). Raising elements (22) have their upper surface (23) inclined and terminating with a stop part (24) arranged substantially vertically to the guide (20,20'). Said raising elements (22) are mobile between a first position below the chutes (16) and the guides (20,20') and a second position above the stops (17) and the guides (20,20') in which they raise the bar placed in the withdrawal position to cause sliding onto the upper inclined surface (23) toward the guide ( 20,20') to a stop position (26). Upon return of the raising elements to the first position the bar in the stop position (26) is placed on the underlying guides (20,20') to be pushed by (pushers) (37,38) into the machine tool.

  • Patent number: 4655662
Abstract: A gripper mechanism for feeding a pair of elongate strips such as a pair of slide fastener stringers has a pair of gripper holders supporting a pair of grippers for gripping the slide fastener stringers, respectively, and a pair of sliders joined to the gripper holders, respectively, and slidably disposed in a housing for independent movement therein. In response to engagement with a cam on a feed path, the grippers are opened to grip or release the slide fastener stringers. The grippers are normally urged by a spring to clamp the slide fastener stringers. A pinion is angularly movably supported on a slide block in the housing and held in mesh with a pair of racks, respectively, of the sliders. A spring acts between the housing and the slide block for normally urging the slide block in a direction to move the gripper holders into abutment against the housing. The gripper holders can be moved relatively to each other toward and away from the housing.

  • Patent number: 4292892
Abstract: A conveyor for conveying material from a press machine. The conveyor is advanced by apparatus adapted to be connected toi the movable head of the press machine. The apparatus includes an arm having a plurality of outwardly extending fingers which is connected to the head of the press machine for movement therewith. A rachet wheel having a plurality of circumferentially spaced finger engaging members is fixably mounted to the drive rod of the conveyor. The fingers on the arm engage the finger engaging members of the rachet wheel upon movement of the head of the press in a first direction which causes the rachet wheel as well as the drive rod to rotate. The rotation of the drive rod results in an incremental advance of the conveyor which removes material deposited thereon from the press machine.

  • Patent number: 4187748
Abstract: The particular machine described has a series of main collets mounted in an indexable drum, each main collet having an associated reciprocable feed tube carrying at its rear end a one-way feed collet employing wedging elements in the form of spring-loaded balls carried in inclined bores of the feed collet body, the feed tubes and feed collets being indexed with the main collets and with a reel-type bar holder. When the collets are arranged to feed non-round bar stock each feed collet is keyed to its associated main collet to enable non-rotating bar stock to be introduced into a rotating feed collet from the bar holder, to be rotated by the feed collet, and then fed through the main collet without stopping the main collet. An axially movable and retractable stop is provided at the feeding station to ensure that an adequate length of bar stock is gripped by a main collet during subsequent machining.

  • Patent number: 4170911
Abstract: Apparatus is disclosed and claimed herein for cutting logs into predetermined lengths with primary use in a hardwood veneer plant. A log conveyor is provided, preferably in two sections, with a cutting station located therebetween. The cutting station is equipped with a pivotally operated chain saw or circular saw which cuts the logs as desired. A log clamp means is provided immediately adjacent the cutting station to engage the log on two sides, preferably top and bottom, with the diameter of the log being irrelevant within wide ranges. When a log is first clamped, the cutting saw passes to square off the forward end of same. Located downstream of the cutting station are a plurality of individually operated log stops that are located in the path of travel of the log moving along the conveyor. A particular stop, depending upon the length of log cut desired, is actuated to move into the path of log travel.
