Single Movable Jaw Gripper Patents (Class 414/453)
  • Patent number: 8948904
Abstract: A work picking system according to embodiments includes a three-dimensional measuring unit, a hand, a calculating unit, a determining unit, and an instructing unit. The three-dimensional measuring unit measures a three-dimensional shape of a work that is a gripping target. The hand is provided on a terminal movable unit of a multi-axis robot and includes a mechanism that changes a distance between gripping claws and a mechanism that changes a tip end direction of the gripping claws. The determining unit determines a tip end direction of the gripping claws based on the attitude of the work calculated by the calculating unit and a direction of a rotation axis of the terminal movable unit.

  • Patent number: 6575690
Abstract: This invention relates to a two-wheeled cart with an extended handle for the levered lifting and balanced moving of bales, such as bales of hay. More particularly, hay baled in the form of a rectangular solid is received by the cart at a hay-bale-receiving loader frame and lifted from the ground under leverage about the wheels applied from the handle used for pulling the cart. Once the bale is lifted by the handle and centrally balanced on an axle between the wheels of the cart, the hay-bale-receiving loader frame on the cart can be pivoted in a plane parallel to the axle of the cart. This pivot can occur from a lifting disposition where the major axis of a bale receiving frame is parallel to the axle between the wheels, to a transport disposition where the major axis of the hay-bale-receiving loader frame is normal to the axle between the wheels.

  • Patent number: 6386816
Abstract: A printed matter transport device. Printed matter is gripped by a gripping mechanism of a chain and made to travel along a guide rail, to improve the durability of the guide rail and chain, to prevent misalignment, falling out and damage when an external force acts on the printed matter, to improve durability of a connecting part of a chain link and the gripping mechanism, to reduce manufacturing costs, and to enable the printed matter to be firmly gripped. A chain with grips having first rollers respectively arranged on two sides in the center of the longitudinal direction of the bases, a second roller on one side perpendicular to the common center line of the first rollers and a grip mechanism on the opposite side, a guide rail, a chain drive and a cam member are provided.

  • Patent number: 4583904
Abstract: A lift bar spaced forwardly of the front end of an elongated tubular frame member supported above ground by a pair of wheels, is positioned in abutment with a log at ground level by forward tilting of the frame member to a pick-up position. In the pick-up position, a pivoted hook on the frame member drops into engagement with the log to hold it on the lift bar above ground during wheeled transport. The log is unloaded by retracting the hook and rolling it off the lift bar over retainer jaws fixed to the lift bar on opposite sides of a pivot plane in which the hook is displaceable and through which the frame axis extends perpendicular to the lift bar.

  • Patent number: 4488733
Abstract: A hand-operated, wheeled carrier for transporting large-sized plates, such as building boards, comprises a stand including a generally upright frame structure mounted on an elongate base structure having along one longitudinal side thereof brackets, on which a small number of plates to be carried may be rested on edge in a position leaning against the frame structure, a hook member and strap connected to the stand being provided to releasably retain the plates in such position. Substantially midway between its ends and close to the plate brackets the base structure has a single, relatively large supporting wheel adapted to take the entire load, when the stand is to be moved, the stand then being balanced on the single wheel by the operator. A pair of casters, one near each end of the base structure, provide additional supports for keeping the stand in a stable position when at rest, the casters being located further away from the plate brackets than the supporting wheel.
