The grain transfer bed has a generally planar lateral width which is the same from the grain inlet to the discharge outlet, and is substantially spanned by each paddle assembly. Fold-down ramps are provided adjacent the inlet to allow a truck or trailer to drive over the grain hopper, which has a very low profile. The grain hopper has removable wheels and a removable hitch to allow it to be relocated as desired.

  • Patent number: 5909816
Abstract: An adjustable frame for carrying vehicles between elongate upright sides includes, on each side, a forward end and a rearward end, each end including an upper and lower rail section joined by elongate brace members, where the respective ends are separated from one another and a length-adjusting insert is carried between such ends to selectively permit adjustment of the position of the forward end relative to the rearward end while maintaining the ends in end-to-end alignment. On each side of the frame, preferably at least one of the upper rail sections has an end portion defining an open-ended hollow tube extending lengthwise of that side within which an elongate arm of the length-adjusting insert is slidably moveable so that structures on the outside surfaces of the rail sections will not interfere with length adjustment.

  • Patent number: 5893399
Abstract: A mechanism for hindering the escape of grain dust from a grain bin, including baffle units having diagonally extending barrier members and vertically oriented baffle members. First and second sloped side walls of the bin, a cover, and a curtain confine the circulation of dust to portions of the bin remote from the baffle units to thereby hinder the escape of dust from the bin. Metering and dump units can be combined with the baffle units to allow operation of a single grain bin in both the high and low flow rate modes of operation.

  • Patent number: 5857831
Abstract: A trailer and a method for loading a trailer onto a transport vehicle. The trailer is elevated, causing a rear axle assembly of the trailer to pivot from a forward position to a position that is generally normal to the trailer frame. A front wheel axle assembly is rotated upwardly, and the trailer is then subsequently slid/or pushed along a generally planar bed surface of the transport vehicle. The end of the bed surface contacts the rear axle assembly during the sliding process, and with continuing sliding the rear axle assembly moves from a normal position to a rearward position.

  • Patent number: 5651655
Abstract: A particulate cargo container support apparatus having plural pairs of side-by-side laterally spaced upright post members rotatably supporting shaft members extending therebetween. Hook members are positioned on the rotatable shaft member so as to be movable out of the path of a container on a raised truck bed when the truck is positioned under the support apparatus. A control device in the form of a manually operable handle is connected to an end of the shaft member for effecting the rotation of the shaft member and hook members into and out of the path of the container on the truck bed. The hook members engage the container on the truck bed when the truck bed is lowered. When the truck bed is fully lowered, a vertical, separation between the container and the truck bed is effected. The container is then fully supported on the support apparatus and the truck is free for other uses.

  • Patent number: 5599153
Abstract: A method and apparatus for the transportation of vehicles, primarily cars, by a seagoing vessel. The vehicles are loaded onto cassettes that include at least one floor or story, with each floor or story including a vehicle driveway. The cassettes are loaded by driving the vehicles onto a ramp, or the like, and onto the driveway. The vehicles are positioned one behind the other until the cassette has been loaded with the desired number of vehicles. The cassette is then transported onto the vessel. The vehicles are offloaded in the reverse order so that the cassette is first transported from the vessel to the dock, and the vehicles are driven from the cassette with the aid of a ramp, or the like.

  • Patent number: 5544999
Abstract: A method for stacking trailers is described. Firstly, position a first trailer on a skid assembly having an upper support frame that overlies a top of the first trailer. The upper support frame has a first end and a second end. Secondly, secure a first end of a tow line to an end of a skid assembly for a second trailer. The tow line is extended over the upper support frame from the first end across to the second end and then a second end of the tow line is secured to a winch. Thirdly, activate the winch to raise the skid assembly of the second trailer to the height of upper support frame and then draw the skid assembly of the second trailer from the first end of the upper support frame across the upper support frame until the end of the skid assembly of the second trailer to which the tow line is attached is positioned at the second end of the upper support frame.
