  • Publication number: 20080279706
Abstract: A pump assembly with valve-seat interface architecture configured to extend the life of pump components and the assembly. A valve of the pump assembly is equipped with a conformable valve insert that is configured with a circumferential component having the capacity to reduce the radial strain of its own deformation upon its striking of a valve seat at the interface within the pump assembly. The circumferential component may include a concave surface about the insert, a rounded abutment at the strike surface of the insert, or a core mechanism within the insert that is of greater energy absorbing character than surrounding material of the insert. Additionally, the valve seat itself may be configured for more even wear over time and equipped with a conformable seat insert to reduce wear on the valve insert.

  • Publication number: 20080121101
Abstract: A double check valve having a floating function is disclosed, whereby a working device that is operated by a hydraulic cylinder having a double check valve (e.g., a dozer blade) can perform a floating function when the working device performs land readjustment of a work surface. The double check valve having a floating function includes a hydraulic pump, a hydraulic cylinder operating a working device, a control valve controlling a start, a stop, and a direction change of the hydraulic cylinder, and a double check valve installed to open/close flow paths between the control valve and the hydraulic cylinder, and having a pair of plungers dividedly formed to be shifted in opposite directions to each other when a signal pressure is applied thereto, and a pair of check valves being pressed to remove their check functions through a shifting of the plungers.

  • Patent number: 7232293
Abstract: A manual hydraulic pump includes a cylinder block 10 and an end block 8. The rear end of the cylinder block 10 and the end block 8 defines an end space 21 between them. The cylinder block 10 has cylinders 13 and oil passages 23. Each oil passage 23 extends between the rear end of one of the cylinders 13 and the end space 21. The end block 8 has a pair of cylindrical holes 27 opening into the end space 21. The end block 8 also has a pair of inlet/outlet ports 25 each communicating with the outside of the pump and one of the cylindrical holes 27. A distributing valve 22 is put in the end space 21 and spring-biased into compressive contact with the rear end of the cylinder block 10. The distributing valve 22 substantially takes the form of a disc and has a thickness smaller than the distance between the adjacent ends of the blocks 10 and 8. The distributing valve 22 has a pair of arcuate ports 22a formed on its front side.

  • Patent number: 5362215
Abstract: A modular fluid end assembly, and associated method of providing same, for a reciprocating pump having a cylinder housing secured to a crankcase by tie bolts. The fluid end is tolerant to having cylinder-head bolts improperly torqued while also providing an over pressure relief feature. The modular fluid end includes a cylinder-head having two seal landings, one common to a cylinder base joint surface and one common to an end joint surface. The base joint seal landing is smaller than the end joint seal landing. An end plate and a co-acting valve cover is provided. The valve cover includes a seal extending thereabout and is accommodated by the seal landing of the end joint. A second seal is accommodated by the base joint seal landing. A plurality of cylinder-head bolts having predetermined yield strengths, are located in proximity to the periphery of the end plate to force the end plate and the valve cover against the cylinder-head.
