Abstract: In a method for monitoring a pump arranged in a flow path to pump a fluid, the temperature of a fluid is regulated by a tempering element during the operation of the pump. The regulation of the temperature may include detecting at least one status point which is formed from an energy supplied to the tempering element and a temperature slope of the tempering element. The status point may be determined in a hazard range by checking whether the status point is located outside of a normal status range, which means that the lifespan of the pump is limited.

Abstract: A diaphragm unit for a diaphragm pump includes a diaphragm core and a multi-layer pump diaphragm connected to the diaphragm core. The pump diaphragm has a fluid-impermeable working layer which comes into contact with a fluid to be delivered, and a fluid-impermeable safety layer. A sealed volume for receiving fluid passing through the working layer is arranged between the working layer and the safety layer. A first clamping region of the diaphragm forms a ring which annularly surrounds the diaphragm core. To detect a rupture of the working diaphragm layer, at least one element of a sensor is provided within the ring formed by the first clamping region for detecting fluid which penetrates into the sealed volume.

Abstract: A downhole pump drive includes a housing, a submersible electric motor and protector, the drive shaft of which is coupled to the screw of a ball screw actuator movably coupled to the housing and is coupled to a rod sealed inside the housing. Interior cavities of the housing communicate with an annular space of the borehole through an elastic shell. The drive shaft of the electric motor is connected to the ball screw actuator via a reverse reduction gear. The reverse reduction gear is switched only when the nut of the ball screw actuator (or of an additional ball screw actuator) arrives at its terminal positions, improving the drive's operational reliability. The electric motor operates in a continuous mode, increasing reliability and energy efficiency of the drive owing to the absence of repeated starting and stopping of the electric motor; consequently, a spike in current intensity upon start-up is avoided.

Abstract: A ventilator or anesthesia device and method create a reference state and record a measured value as a reference value. A gas delivery unit is activated after the ending of the reference state to build up pressure in a breathing circuit. A comparison measured value is determined with a pressure or flow sensor. A deviation of the measured value from the reference value in relation to a predefined or predefinable expected value is monitored based on the comparison. A warning message is issued depending on a result of the comparison. A drop in pressure in the breathing circuit is caused after the recording of the comparison measured value and a further comparison measured value is recorded following the drop in pressure. A deviation of the further comparison measured value from the reference value leads to a further warning message when the deviation does not correspond to the further expected value.
