Interconnected Abutments Patents (Class 418/240)
  • Patent number: 9297380
Abstract: A multi-stage vane-type positive displacement pump used for lifting fluid from oil wells has stages disposed on a common shaft. Each stage has a rotor, a stator, separating vanes, working chambers, a lower cap with inlet ports, and an upper cap with outlet ports. The rotor is in the form of a cam. The stator is formed from two concentric sleeves situated on a base and having an annular gap therebetween. Slots are provided in the inner sleeve and in the base for the movement of the vanes. The vanes are connected to one another by a synchronizing element. The ports are situated opposite the chambers, either side of the vanes. The end faces of the caps of adjacent stages are conjoined to form an annular cavity, which communicates with the gap of the preceding stage. The aim is to increase the reliability of the pump, to simplify the design and to reduce the manufacturing cost thereof while enabling the pumping of fluids with a high content of abrasive particles.

  • Patent number: 6241499
Abstract: The present invention relates to a rotary piston engine to be used as a pump or an engine, comprising a housing (1) fitted with end walls (8, 9), a rotary body (2) rotatably mounted in said housing, and at least one sealing element (7) separating a volume formed between the housing (1) and the rotary body (2), said housing having at least one pair of inlet and outlet openings and the sealing element (7) having two legs portions, the ends of which abut against the rotary body (2), and a web portion intermediate said leg portions, said sealing element additionally being pivotable about a pivot axis on said web portion. The sealing element is movably associated with the housing in such a manner that the sealing element is displaceable radially, thus allowing the sum of the distances from the axis of rotation of the rotary body to the points of abutment on said body to vary.

  • Patent number: 6120272
Abstract: A pump or motor 10 provides a housing 20 which carries one or more elliptical drivers 40 which rotate freely with an axle which is rotatably carried by the housing. One V-shaped rocker 60 is associated with each elliptical driver, and moves in an oscillatory motion in response to being driven by the associated elliptical driver. When used as a motor, fluid entering the housing tends to apply pressure to one side of the elliptical driver, while the other side is shielded from pressure by the V-shaped rocker. Uneven pressure causes the elliptical driver to rotate. As the elliptical driver rotates, the V-shaped rocker oscillates in a period manner at twice the frequency of the elliptical driver. The vertical height of the V-shaped is determined by an adjustable support 80, which allows regulation over the friction level and fluid seal between the rocker and the elliptical drive, and which allows adjustment to compensate for wear of the surfaces of contact between the rocker and the elliptical driver.

  • Patent number: 6000921
Abstract: A fluid pump for transferring liquid material from one container to another is provided. The fluid pump is of a novel structure which comprises a circular base having a less diameter annular projection at a central portion and first guide slot radially formed through the body, an external annulus having a pair of second guide slots made in registry with the first guide slot to define a rectangular space therebetween for facilitating a slider to slide thereabout; a rotary disk disposed into the annulus including a plunger and pushing rod at under side for synchroneously sliding in a fluid channel and actuating the slider to move about so as to repeatedly alter the vacuum state in the pump for sucking the liquid material from one container and simultaneously discharging the sucked liquid material to another container.

  • Patent number: 5707224
Abstract: A liquid pump comprises generally a base, an annular ring including a pair of ingresses and a pair of egresses alternately formed on opposing circumferential walls aside a pair of rectangular recesses therebetween and defining a fluid channel between the base and itself, first and second swivel disks including a rotary plunger and a pushing rod on their under sides and rotating inversely inside the pump. An elongate slider sliding to and fro in a rectangular groove coactes with the rotary plunger for repeatedly changing the vacuum circumstances in the channel to synchronously suck and discharge the liquid material from one container to another.

  • Patent number: 4023540
Abstract: An internal combustion engine of the rotary type which includes a cylindrical rotor having a skirt portion, rotating in an annular chamber, that comprises two arcuate walls of differing radii joined by relatively short, diametrically disposed sloping portions that serve as pistons. A sliding divider which extends through the annular chamber and the skirt portion establishes, with the sloping skirt portions, sub-chambers in the annular chamber in which compression of a combustible gas mixture and combustion of the mixture take place, the latter producing power for moving the rotor and the power shaft attached thereto. The divider is provided with longitudinallly spaced slots in which the rotor skirt is engaged whereby the divider is reciprocated as the sloping portions of the skirt pass through the slots.

  • Patent number: 3988076
Abstract: An inner component of the fluid machine has an outer circumferential surface, and an outer component has an inner circumferential surface which eccentrically surrounds the outer circumferential surface. One of the components is rotatable relative to the other component. The inner component is formed with at least two pair of diametrically opposite guide slots each having an outer end open at the outer circumferential surface and an inner end, the inner ends communicating with one another and each of the guide slots receiving a sliding vane. The sliding vanes in the respective diametrically opposite guide slots are biased apart by at least one biasing spring located between inner ends of the guide slots.
