Patent number: 6821102Abstract: A drive control apparatus is used in an injection molding machine in order to drive and control a servomotor for moving a movable member. Among a plurality of functional sections which constitute a servo circuit connected to the servomotor, at least one functional section (e.g., a safety circuit section, etc.) selected as a functional section having a higher degree of importance is constituted by a hardware circuit section realized without use of software; and the remaining functional section or sections are constituted by a software circuit section realized by making use of software.Type: GrantFiled: June 7, 2002Date of Patent: November 23, 2004Assignee: Nissei Plastic Industrial Co., Ltd.Inventors: Kiyoshi Miyahara, Tsuyoshi Arai, Takashi Magario

Patent number: 6776598Abstract: A semiconductor chip molding apparatus includes an upper platen including an upper mold, a lower platen including a lower mold having a molding block configured to receive a lead frame, a controller, and an electrical detector for forming an electrical circuit between the controller and the lead frame when the lead frame is oriented improperly on the lower mold. A low-level test voltage is imparted to at least the lower mold. As a result, an electrical signal will flow from the detecting block when the lead frame rests on the detecting block. When such a signal is detected, therefore, the lead frame is determined as having been improperly set on the molding block. The signal generated is detected by a controller and used thereby to interrupt the operation of the molding apparatus.Type: GrantFiled: April 19, 2002Date of Patent: August 17, 2004Assignee: Samsung Electronics Co., Ltd.Inventors: Kyung-Soo Park, Sung-Soo Lee, Hee-Mo Koo

Patent number: 6669877Abstract: This invention provides a method which makes it possible to reliably detect malfunctions during the ejecting step without rendering the injection molding machine more complicated. An ejector pin is incorporated in the movable die. This ejector pin is connected, via an ejector plate, a connecting rod, a connecting plate and a feed screw, with a servo motor. The force for ejecting the ejector pin pushing a molded product is measured from the driving torque of a servo motor. In this invention, the relationship between driving torque and elapsed time from the initiation of ejection of the molded product is stored as a reference pattern. The tolerance limit and monitoring interval of driving torque are preset relative to the reference pattern. When the value of driving torque falls outside the tolerance limit during the ejecting step, it is judged as a malfunction, and an alarm is generated to stop the machine in a safe state.Type: GrantFiled: July 6, 2001Date of Patent: December 30, 2003Assignee: Toshiba Machine Co., Ltd.Inventors: Haruyuki Matsubayashi, Akira Kanda, Takamitsu Yamashita, Takashi Yamazaki, Yukio Iimura, Yutaka Yamaguchi, Masamitsu Suzuki

Patent number: 6652785Abstract: An extrusion system controller monitors the movement of an extrudate using a motion detector. Upon detection that the extrudate is no longer moving along its path of movement at the appropriate speed, the controller causes power interruption to the extrusion system by a controlled power switching device. A dimensional anomaly detected by a gauge can cause the controller to effect power interruption as well, when the anomaly lies outside a range of correctable dimensions or when the anomaly does not respond to corrective action by the controller. In the event that a cutter is used on the extrusion line, a detector that may be a photodetector senses that the extrudate is being severed regularly. In the absence of regular severance of the extrudate, the controller effects a power interruption. By use of these techniques, the extrusion line can run entirely unattended.Type: GrantFiled: April 4, 2001Date of Patent: November 25, 2003Assignee: Harrel, IncorporatedInventor: Holton E. Harris
