  • Patent number: 10874953
Abstract: A snowball forming apparatus, and method of use, disclosed herein comprises: an elongated shaft and handle; a funnel shaped cover encircling and covering the shaft up to the handle, and the shaft is slide-able within the cover; and a plurality of grapples connected to the distal end of the shaft, and moveable between an open position to collect snow and release a snowball, and a closed position to form a spherical snowball. The apparatus further comprises a plurality of hinge mechanisms connecting the shaft to the grapples to open and close the grapples by pushing the shaft out of the cover (open grapples) and pulling on the shaft (close grapples). In an embodiment, the apparatus comprises a shaft with a triangular cross-section, three concave grapples, and one spring-actuated hinge per grapple. The user is not required to significantly bend over or touch the snow in order to make snowballs.

  • Patent number: 8641401
Abstract: A combination scoop and mold press includes two generally cup-shaped half-mold members, which engage one another at mold member edges in mirror-image alignment to form a generally enclosed mold. The half-mold members of the scoop and mold press are carried on opposite ends of a unitary piece of injection molded polymeric material, which has a live hinge joint equidistantly spaced between the mold members. Either of the half-mold members may be utilized to scoop out an appropriate mass of bait dough having at least the volume of the closed mold. At least one of the half-mold members is equipped with a notch or slit through which the shank of a fish hook, or the line which is tied to the fish hook, may pass. Finger pressure is used to bring the mold half-members together, compressing the bait dough around the hook.

  • Patent number: 5531584
Abstract: An automated trowelling system for providing a smooth, even finish to one or both sides of a wall. The present system smooths wet surface materials such as concrete or plaster quickly and consistently with minimum manual intervention. Horizontal brackets on the wall support a horizontally translating column and an associated vertically reciprocating trowel. A first motor propels the column and trowel laterally along the wall, while a second motor effects vertical motion. A forward scoop removes excess wall finishing material ahead of the reciprocating trowel, and a nonreciprocating finish trowel follows the reciprocating trowel to provide an enhanced finish to the wall. A processing unit enhances the ability of the system to operate with minimum manual intervention. Sensors provide input to the processing unit.
