  • Patent number: 8230804
Abstract: This liquid applicator covers all sides of substantially flat and dimensional surfaces of boards or siding with stain or paint in a uniform manner. The applicator has an upper and lower series of rollers and wiping agents, a set of vertical rollers, and a paint collection assembly. Preferably, some of the upper rollers and some of the lower rollers will consist of horizontal wet-rollers which receive liquid from an outside source. The remaining rollers are horizontal dry-rollers which absorb, smooth and buff the surface. The vertical rollers coat the side aspects of a board. All rollers spread paint rapidly over all board surfaces in a uniform manner. The main components have adjustment features: the rollers move vertically and toggle clamps and the like permit custom selection and sizing for each of the rollers and wipers. • Patent number: 8067058
Abstract: The amount of a paint for forming a porous heat-resistant layer supplied to the outer surface of a gravure roll is adjusted by removing the paint with a blade that is disposed so as to contact the outer surface. A resin blade is used, and the position at which the resin blade contacts the outer surface of the gravure roll is changed as the resin blade wears away. This prevents the amount of the paint for forming the porous heat-resistant layer removed from the outer surface of the gravure roll from changing as the resin blade wears away, so that the excess amount of the paint carried on the outer surface of the gravure roll is removed with good accuracy. An almost constant amount of the paint is thus transferred to an electrode surface from the outer surface of the gravure roll, and a porous heat-resistant layer with an almost uniform thickness is stably formed on an industrial scale.

  • Patent number: 7867571
Abstract: The aim of the invention is to produce a textile surface (1), one side of which exhibits hydrophilic properties and the other side hydrophobic properties, whose overall cross-section is hydrophilic. To achieve this, a paste (11) consisting of a viscous emulsion or dispersion of paraffin, polysiloxane and/or fluorine compounds is applied to one side. The layer that has been formed by the first paste (11) is then stabilized by means of a drying process (4) and a second paste (12), consisting of a hydrophilic polymer is subsequently applied to the other side of the textile surface (1), said paste being stabilized by an additional drying process (5). Said steps provide a textile surface (1), which can be produced simply and cost-effectively, is extremely comfortable to wear and which ensures that moisture is immediately absorbed on the hydrophilic side, dispersed over a large area and rapidly removed, whereas the hydrophobic side of said textile surface (1) repels water.
