  • Patent number: 9303868
Abstract: The invention relates to a burner system having a number of premixed burners (2), which each have one or more feed openings and outflow openings for a combustible gas/air mixture. The burner system is provided with means (11) for transferring a flame from one burner to another. By making use of such flame transfer means the burner system can be ignited at one of the burners, wherein the flame then overflows sufficiently-rapidly to the other burners in order to ignite them before a dangerously large quantity of the combustible gas/air mixture has flown out. These flame transfer means can define a flame path between the burners which can for instance be formed by an overflow pipe (12) mutually connecting the burners. The burner system can further be provided with a member (13) directed toward the flame path for the purpose of injecting the combustible gas/air mixture (M) therein. This injection member can be connected via a branch conduit (14) to a mixing chamber (5) in which the gas/air mixture is formed.

  • Patent number: 8690976
Abstract: A fuel reformer is provided that is capable of improving endurance and performance. The fuel reformer includes a first burner having a first-burner first end, a first-burner second end, and a first opening formed in the first-burner first end; a second burner surrounding the first burner and having a second-burner second end, a second-burner second end, and a second opening in the second-burner first end, wherein the second-burner second end is coupled to the first-burner second end to communicate a fluid. The reforming reactor is configured to generate heat from the first and second burners, and has a fuel supply including a nozzle unit in the first burner and supplies a second oxidation fuel from the outside to the first burner. A first oxidation fuel is introduced into the first opening and flows through the first burner in a first direction and flows through the second burner in a third direction opposite to the first direction.

  • Patent number: 6634881
Abstract: A biogas flare system for burning biogas generated primarily by a landfill includes at least one burner for igniting a mixture of biogas and air. A main supply line supplies a mixture of biogas and air to the burner. A biogas supply line feeds biogas into the main supply line. An air supply line feeds air into the main supply line. A mixer structure mixes the biogas and air prior to the mixture being supplied to the burner.

  • Patent number: 4009302
Abstract: A burner assembly in which various elements are joined in a manner which ensures gastight integrity of the assembly. A porcelain-coated base plate is formed of a pair of overlying steel sheets with integral embossments defining air-gas ducts to burner heads mounted on the base plate and defining ignition tubes for conducting a flame from a pilot housing to the burner heads. The air-gas ducts are sealed by establishing a pressurized flow of a slurry of ceramic frit therethrough, which is effective to coat the full interior of the ducts and close any crevices formed between the sheets. The burner head elements are arranged to provide metal-to-metal sealing engagement with peripheral edges of apertures in the base plate sheets which are characteristically free of porcelain enamel coating. An annular embossment on one of the sheets is preloaded by deflecting it toward the other sheet during assembly of the burner head elements.
