  • Publication number: 20120308946
Abstract: Gas generation apparatus and methods are provided, including apparatus and methods for efficient vaporization, and optional burning, of meltable fuels. The apparatus and methods provide controlled generation and combustion of any low melting point dimensionally stable combustible meltable fuel. This is preferably accomplished by first converting the solid or semi solid meltable fuel material into a liquid state, then into vapor, and finally mixing with an air source or other oxidizer before combustion.

  • Publication number: 20120298093
Abstract: A high efficiency stove has a chamber attached to a base. The chamber is liquid tight and holds liquid fuel such as alcohol within. At least one heat conductor is provided to capture heat and redirect it back into the fuel to increase the gasification process required for combustion. This heat is normally lost in conventional stoves. This greatly increases the efficiency of the stove and allows small size stoves to have a heat output superior to conventional stoves. In one embodiment, removable heat conductors are used to adjust heat output. In another embodiment an adjustment sleeve is used that effectively changes the height of the chamber to adjust output. Another embodiment utilizes an outer sleeve that rotates to open and close at least one airflow opening provided for that purpose. One embodiment includes cooking support legs that allows a user to use a pot or pan.

  • Patent number: 8025048
Abstract: The portable out door heater burns fuel such as propane from a pressurized gas fuel tank. The fuel enters an entrainment tube through a nozzle orifice that is coaxial with the cylindrical entrainment tube axis. Air enters the entrainment through air entry apertures and is entrained with the high velocity fuel stream. The air and fuel mixture passes from the entrainment tube into a coaxial cylindrical burner supply tube. The supply tube has a smaller diameter to accelerate movement of the air and fuel mixture. A cylindrical combustion chamber receives the air fuel mixture moving tangentially to the combustion chamber inside wall. A ring inside the chamber retards movement of the fuel charge. The fuel oxidizes at a temperature that reduces odors and converts carbon monoxide to carbon dioxide. The products of combustion pass through a silencer and into an area to be heated. A choke and igniter initiate combustion.

  • Patent number: 6390807
Abstract: The present invention relates to a structure in which an unburnt gas can be prevented from being diffused into a room while suppressing the generation of the unburnt gas during the extinction operation of a pot type oil burner. During the extinction operation, first of all, the supply of a fuel from fuel feeding means (35) to a pot (15) is stopped and conduction to an electric heater (31) is started. The rotation of each of a combustion fan (23) and a convection fan (11) is carried out continuously. While a second timer (67) counts a second time period, the convection fan (11) is rotated at a high speed. After the second time period is ended, the rotation of the convection fan (11) is switched from high speed rotation into low speed rotation. The low speed rotation is carried out continuously for a third time period counted by a third timer. After the third time period is ended, the rotation of the convection fan (11) is returned from the low speed rotation to the high speed rotation.

  • Patent number: 4487572
Abstract: Disclosed is an apparatus for safely and effectively facilitating the ignition of logs positioned on a grate within a fireplace. It includes an elongated open top container and a base for support. The open top of the container maintains a flame sustained by the combustion of vaporized fuel. Once combustion of the fuel is initiated, the container walls defining this opening receive and conduct heat to the fuel reservoir to vaporize more fuel and thereby sustain combustion. Combustion may be initiated by a combustible wick. The upper section of the windward wall of the container slopes downwardly and outwardly from the opening at the top of the container and this surface cooperates with the surface formed by the bottom of the grate and its contents. Together, these surfaces restrict the natural draft underneath the grate producing somewhat of a venturi effect thereby increasing the velocity of the draft.
