Abstract: Provided are antibacterial and antimicrobial surface coatings and dental materials by utilizing the antimicrobial properties of copper chalcogenide and/or copper halide (CuQ, where Q=chalcogens including oxygen, or halogens, or nothing). An antimicrobial barrier is created by incorporation of CuQ nanoparticles of an appropriate size and at a concentration necessary and sufficient to create a unique bioelectrical environment. The unique bioelectrical environment results in biocidal effectiveness through a multi-factorial mechanism comprising a combination of the intrinsic quantum flux of copper (Cu0, Cu1+, Cu2+) ions and the high surface-to-volume electron sink facilitated by the nanoparticle. The result is the constant quantum flux of copper which manifests and establishes the antimicrobial environment preventing or inhibiting the growth of bacteria.

Abstract: Herein are provided methods, systems, computer-readable media, techniques and processes for adjusting dental prostheses based on soft tissue. These include allowing an operator to define the surface of a dental prosthesis, such as an abutment, that is proximal to the patient's gum relative to a 3D scan of the patient's gums. The operator can define the offset of that surface as well as the limits of that surface.

Abstract: Certain embodiments relate to a method of forming an individualized dental product ready for application including at least one tooth veneer, which is of a ceramic material. The method includes milling a first side of a ceramic substrate, filling up with a support material against the first side of the substrate, and milling the second side of the substrate until the veneer is plate-like and provided with a bevelled region over a distance (s) taken from an edge and 0.3 mm to 3 mm towards a middle portion of the veneer. The veneer thickness varies from 0 to a plate thickness (d*enlargement factor) over the distance (s). The method further includes sintering the dental product and removing the support material. Certain embodiments also relate to a product resulting from the method.

Abstract: A tubular sleeve is configured to grasp a small part, move it, and place it in a correct location in a patient's mouth. The tubular sleeve comprises a picking end; a connection end having a connection end piece configured to connect to a suction system; and an inner part between the picking end and the connection end, the inner part being equipped with a sealing flap configured to cooperate with a control device to move the sealing flap between an open position and a closed position. The sealing flap, in the open position, allows passage of aspirated air flow from the suction system to pick up and suction the small part, and the sealing flap, in the closed position, blocks the aspirated air flow to separate the small part from the tubular sleeve.
